ericz123 , remove the white cover at the On/Off switch, you might also need to remove the bottom. Hidden below it would a screw that holds the player together. Removing it would allow you to slide the player out from the green casing. You might need to depress the buttons whilst doing so to avoid damaging it.

what firware version do you have please ? I have the same type of player but flashed it with wrong firmware. Thanks. Btw in orther to be able to slide the contents out it is better to remove the central puch utton cover. Any more questions feel free to ask i managed to open my mp4 yesterday.

ericz123 , it all depends on what chipset your player is using. Usually it would be an Actions ATJ209* chipset, which at the moment there isin't many firmwares to try. Due to the fact that the firmware extraction tool does not support any version higher than v9.0.43, as most players uses the v9.0.48, v9.0.50, etc.

There are no substantial evidence yet that a real 8GB player exists, except for branded chinese players. Mostly are hacked 1-2GB chips or even lesser.
Considering a real 4GB chip costs about USD$25, so 8GB would mean a structure of 2x4GB, costing USD$50 just for the memory chips alone. So typically a real 8GB player would cost at least USD$70-80 to purchase. Which likely you have paid much lesser for it.
