Maybe there is a working fw, but I tried to upgrade with utilities 3.06 and 4.17 and it doesn't work.
A clue is that my player is detected by windows as a actions USB 2.0 (HS).

I changed the driver to use the ADFU but with both drivers it doesn't work.

Thanks vaxch

Re: serious problem with adfu

Hi;

Plug-in your Player and don't install any driver.
Go to "panneau de configuration" (If your Windows is in French) :?:
-> "Système"
-> "Matériel"
-> "Gestionnaire de périphériques"
now, look if you can find your player there. It can be an "Périphérique inconnu" or "USB device" for example.
anyway, make a right klick and choose "propriétés"
-> "détail"
Now, there, you will be able to read the device information which you have to write down.

There you will find the identification you need. It will look like this :

USB\VID_10D6&PID_ff51\6&31B7E506&0&2

The VID and PID number is what we need to edit into AdfuUpdate.inf, in order that Windows knows that this file has hardware information for the selected device.

Example:
If your VID is 10D6 and your PID ff51, you have to change adfu file into this :

[Upgrade]
%USB\VID_10D6&PID_ff51.DeviceDesc%=MDisk.install,USB\VID_10D6&PID_ff51

and this last line :

[Strings]
MSFT="MP3 Player"
MfgName="MP3 Player"
USB\VID_10D6&PID_ff51.DeviceDesc="ADFU USB Device"

The adfuUpdate.inf is located in your windows folder. If you have problems doing this, post me your information which you have found in "details".

After you have changed your adfuUpdate.inf in your windows folder as described, unplug your player und plug him into another usb port in order that windows asks for drivers.

From here on, you have to follow this :

-> "Installer à partir d'une liste ou d'un emplacement spécifié (utilisateurs expérimentés )"
-> "Ne pas rechercher, je vais choisir lepilote à installer"
-> "Disque fourni"

Here, you get to your modified adfuUpdate.inf file located in your windows folder.

And now you should have an "ADFU Device"

From now on, you finally will be able to load a new firmware with the latest update utility tool which you can find here in our download section.

Good luck

Best regards
Jim

Re: serious problem with adfu

thank a lot for your kind help and useful knowledge.
Finally i could show my device as adfu.
But have an other problem with downloading firmware.
I'm using mp3 player utilities 4.15.After selecting firmware and clicking the " recover firmware" button program starts checking the firm ware and downloading it into device as expected.But near the and of process a error message occurs like " read or write device information failed.Please exit the program and check if device is connecting"
and then it sounds and and lookes like i have unpluged my mp4 device and pluged again.
at the end bloody blue screen... :evil:

Re: serious problem with adfu

remove the battery of your player and turn him OFF before you plug him in to upgrade your firmware...

i removed the battery and waited a while.Then same thing happened.
Somehow i cant complete downloading.
at the end of process device looks like turned off or something like that. Connection between mp3utility and device is cuted with some reason that i can't realize.

Remove battery, re-solder the flash chip, then upgrade the player again.

Re: serious problem with adfu

finally it has worked.
i tried on a different computer. i thing my usb ports was damaged.

But it seems like problems will never finish . i cant find a proper firmware for my fake sony 1 gb mp4 player that has ak1025 chip.
it's original firmware was 9.0.48 .
I've taken a back up with "s1fwx" but it's not working.
I searched lots of web side but couldn't find any firm ware like ak1025 9.0.48

interuptor0 30th Oct 2007 4:09 am

u must specify 1. Controller(AK1025),2. Flash(MLC/SLC),3.PCB model,4.LCD model, to get correct firmware.

I'm very pleased about your help.
I feel that i got depth to this side and the generous people here.
But i must ask for more information( in shame).

How can i find out "2.Flash(MLC/SLC),3.PCB model,4.LCD" .is there any guide for it.

p.s:
i think LCD is 1.5 inch.But I'm not sure it can be 1.8 either.

interuptor0 31st Oct 2007 6:43 pm

Flash= memory chip with 48pins(i.e. SAMSUNG K9.......)normally china use MLC.
PCB model= observe carefully ur player's circuit board. u will see MP....... V.. printed on the board.
LCD= look at the back of the LCD, near the LCD's pins have some pinting.
how to measure LCD size? measure the display area angle to angle.
