empty battery

Hi,

my player's been dead for weeks now and i can't use it because the battery is already empty.

i can't charge it, because when i connect it throught a USB cord, Windows XP shows this :

Any suggestions please?

Thanks alot.

kingp0d , charging of the battery usually do not need the player to be recognised. As the battery only need the +5V and GNd pins to be connected, and not the data pins.

Re: empty battery

thanks for your reply mate.

ok i'll plug the usb cord and let's see if it charges.

BTW, if windows can't recognize the mp3player as a removable drive, then how am i going to put files in it?

make sure the main power switch is on and then try a different usb port. could you upload a pic of ur palyer

thanks for the response.

i plugged it in my computer and i think it charged because i can open it agian. but still, windows won't detect it as a removable drive, that's why i can't put files in it.

here's the firmware version:

Quote:

dx501-v4
act_v3.5.37

i'm uploading the image of the player now, i'll post it later.

THankX!

Re: empty battery

sorry for the late reply, had to deal with some things.

i don't think the usb cable is damaged because when i connect the player thru that usb cable, the player charges.

the only problem is windows can't detect it as a removable drive.

kingp0d , try using another USB cable as some player cables are faulty.

Also, try connecting to other computers and see if the player could be detected.
