samsung ipod lookalike

Hi I don't know much about mp3 players. I brought it from ebay. it has a samsung chip in it. Worked fine 1st day then when I went to upload songs on to it it came up with a disk error. Can I reformat the disk and re install firmware?

thanks for the help.

turn on main power switch.connect to PC. format the player's drive with FAT system. upload data as u like. disconnect the player. soft off the player. turn off main power switch and on again. in this case, no problem with firmware.

will formatting it not lose the software to actually run and play the mp3's?

richy4 , for most players bought off ebay, especially the 4GB/8GB varieties, usually most are hacked.
If they are, formatting via Windows would not be able to remove the hack.
I'll suggest formatting with MP3 Utilities Disk Tools, guide here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-re...ck-vt2400.html

Formatting would not remove the firmware. Unless you have copied more than the actual capacity of the chip. Causing a firmware corruption due to overwriting.
