Default adfuupdat.inf problem - has no information about hardware

when i followed the dead player recovery guide, i get stuck on the part where i must use the AdfuUpdate.inf. When i click it and then click ok, it says the the AdfuUpdate has no information about my hardware. i tried changing the VID%PID numbers, but i still have the same problem. My player is dead because i tries unsuccessfully to put in some new firmware due to my player not functioning properly. Can someone please help?

yes i have installed the mp3 player utilities, but it is my adfuupdate that is causing all the problems, maybe the hardware detail shown by the Pc may be incorrect.

BTW, i bought my mp4 from a new zealand auction site (TradeMe), here is the exact same model (except for the color)being sold by the same member who sold me mine.:

random0guy , this ADFU thing has been giving alot of problems for the v9.xx chipsets.

Just to check that you have updated/added in a new line into the ADFUupdate.inf to match the PID character/number shown on your computer?
What's the PID character/number?

What error message does Windows say when you attempt to update the driver using the edited ADFU file?

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

T39 doesn''t sound as good as my T29
