USB, Unknown device PID0000.. help!!!!!!

hi guys,

So here my problem, my mp4 player broke, blue screen with hour glass, now this wouldnt be much of a problem, just have to upload the firmware, but my computer couldnt detect the driver (unknown device), and i couldnt install the adduf...inf file, because my PID had set to 0000, so after hours of playin around with it, and follwoing some of the guides on here, i shorted out the player by putting the screwdriver on the four 1/0 pins on the chip, this reset the pid numbers to normal 160D (sumthing lyke that), now my screens gone blank, but i did manage to get the driver installed ADFU or a mass storage device....so its now recognised, now my problem is that the usb is recognise, but how do i assign a drive to it (say drive) E:\ , as it says "no removable disk detected" wen i try and update the firmware back to my MP4 player , (also anyone know the firmware for my mp4 player??? by the way see attached picture) i i vaguely remeber 9.xx.50 and XTC-112 ETC ETC or sumthing... Any help would be appreciated. Thanx

amar_q , you'll usually need a Full firmware first to flash into the player, then followed by the firmware dumps. Once a compatible Full firmware has been flashed, the removable drive would appear in your computer.

amar_q , when you start the MP3 Utilities Upgrade Tool, does the software mention anything in the beginning like Recovery State?

no it doesnt say anything about the recover state...

Anyway, i've got more info if you need it,

1) Shown on system as a driver simp3 adfu
2) Mp3 player disk manager shows it as not detected
3) Updater actually opens now (coudnt read disk b4) i cant upload the firmware onto the phone because like i sed its unclickable
4) Also shown as workin properly on driver properties
