blue screen

I have followed all steps to recover my mp4 player.I formatted, using disc tool, loaded firmware which came on cd.Log says it loaded fine, same firmware comes up 9.0.52, which was loaded.I can put files onto the device, but all I get is a blue screen. No menus. What have I done wrong?thanks

goosey , the problem with the version numbers are that the manufacturers do not practice proper versions control. As they find cheaper alternative hardware, they modify the firmware to suit the hardware. However, they do not update the version number. So there could be tens or hundreds of variants of v9.0.52 which are not the same.

What is happening now is that likely you have flashed a firmware that is not compatible. The log only tells you that the file has been flashed into the player, it does not tell you that it is compatible.

What i can suggest is to try all the v9.xx firmwares for your screen size here http://www.mympxplayer.org/actions-9...ware-dc37.html

Re: blue screen

I have been reading a bit more in the forums. It seems I missed the part where is says to see if your device is recognized as a adfu device(which I understand is a state ready for new firmwar.)my device is recognized as a usb storage. So maybe that is the first step to overcome.I have tried to choose the adfuupdate file but is wont work.It says something about not having enough info about my device. I will keep reading and trying different things, I find this quite interesting. And I don't mind messing around with something that only cost $40. Thanks for the reply.
