"format error" message appears after seemingly 2 m
It is the second time that this hitech 512mb mp4 dies.
The first time was because i tried upgrading it with a non-corresponding firmware. I used the recovery method in this forums and it worked perfectly. The second time it died for no apparent reason without even being connected to the computer. I followed the same steps and it worked, however, when i tried a 23 minutes long amv file in it, a "format error" message appears after seemingly 2 mins. each time i try it it advances a little more, like 0.5 secs, very wierd. I have not tested music yet, but please help me if you have any idea of how to fix this problem :( |
flash memory chips poor soldering.

Are you sure the player is faulty? Maybe the video is encoded incorrectly please try the sample amv videos and tell us what happens.
It could be a hardware error but theres no harm in hoping there isnt :) |
It might be a problem with the video file itself.
As Abdul-Nimer suggested, try the sample video and see if that plays ok. Did you convert the AMV file yourself? If so, what QUALITY setting did you use? Try "medium" quality instead of "high" as sometimes some players can't play the full video at "high" quality. Let me know. |
