Default transfering firmware

I have one player with blue screen, I have tried many firmwares, no luck. I bought another of the same player. Can I put that firmware into the blue screen player?I was thinking when it asks to ugrade firmware, using the upgrade tool, I could choose the new player in the browse window. Will this work, or do I need another program to download the good firmware, and rewrite it to the dead player? Thanks

You will first have to extract the firmware form the working unit. My understanding is that if the firmware is pre 9.x.xx you use a utility from S1mp3.org site (probably also available here), otherwise you need to look for s1fwx_v26_mympxplayer_org.zip on this site.
Once you have the firmware from the working unit you should be able to upgrade the firmware on the broken unit.

No guarantees though the risk is yours. Please confirm this info from another source on this site
