problems with my onda vx878 :white screen

hi all i am having a problem when i switch my player on that i get a white screen .. but if i squeez both side of the player when switching on it will bring up the menu .. but as i easily release my squezze the screen will get pixalated and freeze up

any body had this problem or know what the problem is or a fix that i can carry out myself

as this was a present for my daughter for christmas

It must be defective, if you can do a return or exchange of that VX878 at where you got it.
