Thank you!!!!

Hi, I'm new here. My ebay seller 'yoneedshop' referred me to this site to download firmware for my defunct mp3/4 player I purchased for Christmas gift. WOW! Didn't know what to look out for, yikes.

I've used the Dead Player Guide to restore The only numbers I can find on anything inside the player is 29F8G08MAA which concludes no firmware yet available.

I used the the file EL-SIPN_mp4001c.fw and it failed. Then I found and tried another bin file from megaupload and go this message from upgrade tool "TJD_918_BKS_ST7732.bin 2008-01-02 10:04 V9.1.52 Success." Now I have the ability to see the player from explorer, but now my screen is black after flashing blue momentarily from the on switch.

While I have been registering here and typing this message, now the player is making a sound like it's shorting out (I turned it off).

Where do I go from here? I've already begun a dialogue with the seller and luckily paid through paypal my $47 (it was FREE shipping from Hong Kong!)

Thanks for all this help and information.

sorry to let you know but this guy sells hacked players. I know because I bought one. If you haven't filed a claim with paypal do it now. escalate it to a dispute within 24 hours tell them its hacked they will tell you to send it back to him with and provide tracking when you provide tracking number they will refund your money. it will cost you $16.50 to send registered 1st class to hong kong. he will probably refuse to sign for it so you will get it back in about 15 days I suggest you don't sign to get it back or it will look like you mailed to yourself.
