My Glacier type player has a blank screen, white in colour

Thanks for the detailed response. I'll once again try. I have tried with many versions of the upgrade tool and presently attempting with version 4.15.
If possible, please send (or direct) the update tool that you have used successfully.

P.S. I did short the pins (all of them at one point and in accordance with the document that you get with the firmware files that I mention earlier). It made the player flash off but it always came back on in less than a second to the same point that it was at before (a still hour glass to start, white screen later). So I thought that this probably didn't do anything..worth a try if all else fails thooough I guess.

I was having the same problems now I downloaded and followed all the instructions I had a white screen re flashed now I have no screen its completely blank and yet windows vista still recongnizes it.
Any Ideas?

Hi,
Different wrong firmwares (that still load onto the mp4) have different effects. I'm no expert, I probably tried about 10 before hitting on the right one for my mp4.
I must have been one of the luckiest people on this web-site or maybe you just don't hear the success stories.
Keep trying and reading all the other posts.

Thanks a lot for the pains taken by you to help me out.
9.0.5_7 is the exact firmware for my player. I could successfully download it and restart the player but now the problem seem to be somewhere else. it restarts and then after few seconds switches back to afduu device and then i have to re-do the same process to bring it back..
so no I have the exact firmware with me, the exact firmware upgrade tool, could successfully transfer the firware update... but still a fully functional player. I think, I'll keep trying.

I did a windows FAT (not FAT32) format on the player then. Have you already done this?
