fash possible and still possible to use as USB-drive?

Hi!

A general question:
I have tried to revive my dead player (Unirex, 1 GB, 2 inch disiplay) and I think I have burtn my flash wile I tried to get it into the recovery-mode.

Strange thing: I can use my player still as USB-drive wit a capacity of 1 GB.

My question:
Is it possible that the flash is destroyed, but nevertheless the device can still work as normal USB-drive? Or - does the fact that the device still works as USB-drive mean that the flash is not burnt and still working(that's what I hope)?

thanks for your help,

schroedinger,

i'm not very sure bout this...maybe the firmware of the player(i mean for the mp4) is corrupted..but the MASS STORAGE(USB) driver is still okay..

Hi gaboon,

thank you.

yesterday I also realized the following:
- it is still possible to put the player into recovery-mode (with ADFU driver)
- when I tried to flash a new firmway I always (no matter which firmware I try) the message from s1clone (and s1res) "no flash chip detected".

I guess that's an indication that my flash is really gone.
