Nano Clone MP4 Player Hack Format / Firmware

Hi there,

Usual story. Bought a 4GB Nano Clone off e-bay. See here

Turns out to be a 1GB chip. Thought it was a Firmware issue at first, so applied what I thought to be the correct firmware (I know!), but eventually through using this site worked out the real problem.

Machine still works, but gets the "DISK ERROR" when you try and do anything. I've been through REMOVING MEMORY HACK and it goes through fine, but after "Complete setting disk partition" I don't get 2 disks. After it is complete it does not display as being formatted in Windows.

If I format it as FAT32 it says "cannot format" and if I format as FAT it formats OK, but has a load of junk files there that I can't remove and it won't let me copy files to it.

Firstly does anyone have any suggestions on how to format this as it is?

If it looks like a firmware problem, then anyone have any idea of the correct firmware based upon what I know?

AK1025
Hynix HY2TUT088G2m
CM60026ACT6

The guy I bought it off has offered to replace this, but I'm not sure I trust him and I'll have to pay postage, etc, so would prefer just have a 1GB player.

Well, now it is a firmware problem. Have a look here for help in getting the correct firmware: http://www.mympxplayer.org/s1-mp3-pl...et-vt8747.html

Good luck! ;)

Re: Nano Clone MP4 Player Hack Format / Firmware

Thanks there,

The problem is that I'm not sure how to read these file names.

For instance LG_LWL_LS101V12_CM60026_AK1025_V9.1.52_20070828.ra r

Ok the CM60026 matches.
AK1025 matches.
V9.1.52 was the version on my machine before I tinkered.

The other part of these files bear no resemblance to any numbers on my machine though.

What else should I be looking at?

Thanks.

Thanks again.

Searching on CJ91-002 gives me:

LG(SQB)_CJ91-002_CM60026_L15_2091N_V50_070420.rar
LG(xmc)_CJ91-002_CM70033_2091N_V9.1.51_070526.rar

Neither of which appear to be right.

As an aside I'm not 100% sure that I haven't still got the original firmware on the machine, as it still shows correctly in the Firmware version screen on the player.

If that is the case has anyone else seen the REMOVING MEMORY HACK doesn't format the drive to a Windows readable format and a Window FAT format loads unusable gobblegook files and prevents updates?

Also has anyone dealt with e-Bay guy http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/mkftiramisu? He's got lots of positive feedback and has given me a return address. Should I try returning the item to Hong Kong (at my expense)?
