Re: HELP MEEE...SEND PMP2401 FIRMWARE TO ME...
Hi!
Try this firmware and see if it works :D. http://rapidshare.com/files/99002899...heigii.7z.html Password: www.mympxplayer.org |
Re: HELP MEEE...SEND PMP2401 FIRMWARE TO ME...
The shape of the MP4 may be the same, but it will not work using the firmware with MAGIC.bin. It requires the firmware with PMP2401.bin

Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
I have that same MP4 player and it came with a driver disk.
I zipped and uploaded the files to http://www.datawhorehouse.com/mp4player/mp4firmware.zip Good luck. I have the 2GB version and the firmware doesn't work. When connecting it via USB, my computer reports it as Ankya PMP2501 The screen shows BIOS PMP MLC V2.1.6 I did a low level format and then copied all the files into the 16MB folder. However when restarting, it doesn't boot back into the menu. Instead, I see some garbage graphics on the top 1/4 of the screen and it makes beeping noises. I wonder if I need the 2501 firmware??? ~Rolan |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
The firmware that comes from its driver disc will not work.
I believe you have to copy/get the DynamicFont2, AkResData.bin, PMP2401.bin and config_data.bin from the 14MB or 16MB partition of another same player. In my situation, the memory space used to store the DynamicFont2, AkResData.bin, PMP2401.bin and config_data.bin is only 13.9MB and because of this, it is not sufficient enough to store the above files that comes from the same player that has 16MB memory allocation for its firmware files. |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Rolan,
If you want to try, Copy DynamicFont2.bin, config_data.bin and PMP2401.bin from your driver disc to your MP4 player's 16MB partition, then copy the AkResData.bin you download from http://rapidshare.com/files/10398013...sion_.zip.html to your player Good luck and please report the result |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
I was not able to copy all the files onto my first partition either. Apparently, I have 13.9MB of space in the first partition, 2MB in the second, and 2GB in the third. :(
~Rolan |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
What if you only copy the PMP2401.bin and AkResData.bin into it? Leave the config_data.bin and DynamicFont2.bin behind?
|
nope. It gets stuck at "Loading..."
I also copied information0.txt over and same thing. ~Rolan |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Would it be possible for you to buy another one like the one you currently have? I have been trying to buy the one that has the 13.9MB of partition to fix my current one, but it seems that they are either difficult to find or no longer available in the market.
|
I bought it from a lady at a computer show/flea market. Next time the show comes around, I'll try and see if I can find the lady.

Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Rolan,
Have you managed to get another similar MP4 player? I still haven't been able to find the one with 13.9MB of space to store the 4 system files and the worst that could happen, I just hope that all the 16MB ones would not split and turn into 13.9MB and 2MB partition after the MP4 player is low-level-formatted. If this happen, then I just hope that there's any way to combine the 13.9MB partition and the 2MB partition. So far I have tried Paragon Partition Manager to combine both partition, but it failed to combine both partitions. Sending email to anyka requesting for the firmware do not seem to get answered as well. |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Rolan, if you're still alive....
I checked similar Anyka PMP2501 MP4 player and I'm surprised of what I have found about its memory partition. The first partition that is used to store the 4 .bin files will be detected of having a total capacity of 15.9MB if it is checked by using "right click" & "properties" from "My Computer"... BUT the "Disk Management" on "Computer Management" will only detect this first partition 14MB. In addition to that, I only able to copy AkResData.bin and PMP2401.bin to my hard disk. I always get error message: "cannot copy 'filename': cannot read from the source file or disk" whenever I try to copy DynamicFont2.bin and config_data.bin to my hard disk. The second partition (2MB) seem to be unreadable because it has a RAW file system and Windows will always ask me to format it whenever I try to access it. The third partition contains a folder called "SYSTEM" and this partition will be detected of having a total capacity of 1.97MB (MEGAbytes) if it is checked using "right click" & "properties" from "My computer"... BUT the "Disk Management" on "Computer Management" will detect this partition 1.95GB (GIGAbyte). |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Good and bad news!
I was able to meet with the vendor that sold me my PMP. They were not helpful and had no clue about anything. I resorted to opening up PMP to see if I could find any clues on the circuit board. It read, TX2418C V0.6 I did a google search and found a number of results in chinese. Here is one page that may help: http://translate.google.com/translat...US241%26sa%3DG It describes using the nandflash exe utility. The password, when prompted, is "anyka". I haven't been able to get the nand burner software to work because, unfortunately, I can't read chinese, but I will get a translation shortly. I think we are very close to resolving this. ~Rolan |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Hi Rolan,
I went to the url above (translated), but couldn't find the one that describes steps of using the nandflash utility. |

Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
I think you're going to need a Chinese Windows to see al the characters in the nandflash utility. I've installed my english Windows with all chinese characters support but those characters are still unreadable.
|
The better idea is the MOZILLA explorer from that you can translate any chinese page into english and the translation is free

Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
In my case I need to view the Chinese characters on a nandflash utility application (not a webpage).

Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Ok, I have some new information about burning the Nand flash.
Unfortunately, it has put my MP4 player in a worse state than before, but here is some information that may help you. To burn the NAND flash: First, start the burnNAND software on the computer, then, with the MP4 player switch in OFF position, hold down the next (right arrow) button on the MP4 player while plugging in the USB cable. The computer will detect it as a M3 device. You can then click the upgrade button (button on top right of the burnNAND application) to start the firmware upload. The blue square will change to yellow color when burning and then green when complete. After I finished burning mine, it would no longer boot to the blue screen, instead I had a black screen that beeped. I believe we need to change some of the parameters customized to the hardware before starting the burn (in the settings menu, password=anyka). I loaded the software on my father's computer who has all the chinese fonts, and it still did not show up properly (???'s everywhere). I think we are going to need some advice from the manufacturer on this one. |
Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
How long did take for the blue to change into yellow? What happened to me, the blue never changed to yellow at all.
|
It should happen right away. Was the mp4 player detected by Windows? I went into the configuration page and changed the first value from 1 to 2, which I think made the status bar show % also. There is a hidden button at the bottom of the configuration screen ( probably obscured by the incorrect font type throwing off the formatting of the page). If you move the cursor around the bottom, maybe move the horizontal scroll bar, it will appear. After clicking that, you will be returned back to the main page. It will write the settings to a file called information0.txt in the directory on the PC. You need to then click the upgrade button in the top right hand corner for it to work.

Re: Looking for PMP2401 FIRMWARE
Yes the mp4 player was detected by Windows and the nandflash utility as well. There are two hidden buttons on the left bottom side, and both are "??". I used NJSTAR viewer to display some of the Chinese characters, but this software is not capable of viewing/translating some of the ??? characters too. I did try both of the ?? buttons without any result. But I think more test are still to be done.

Is this case now closed?
Rolan, any luck so far? |
