Hi there jimmys, what you mean its not recognized? You mean the error message "Device Not Detected" appears when you run the upgrade tool?Do you have already the suitable firmware for your player?

the firmware you have found is not compatible for your player.

try also using different versions of the upgrader tool. sometimes older version of the upgrade tool wont work with newer firmware (based on my observation).

since the unsuccessful attempt with 4.12 the blue hourglass screen is gone and now it's just blank screen..
i managed to work mp3 player utility 3.06 but the two firmwares i used failed to install.. do you know if there is any other firmware i can use?
with 4.25 the firmware is installed and the player is recognized as a removable usb device but with no capacity. do i have to format it through windows? what's the next step?
thanks interuptor0 for your help!
