Alternative fix for rockchip players you can try

Hi all

After trying to upgrade my firmware a year ago; i couldnt turn my dec
a-660 back on. It would just bring a white screen. It would still however detect in windows as normal drives.

On my day off i found this website; and after 2 hours of reading ppl's post have managed to fix my mp4 player HORRAY!

The problem i had was that my consumerupdate software would give me a error that "usb device not found" when i tried to put in the firmware.

I recommend you to do this as a last resort as i have only tested/fixed/used this fix on my mp4 player.

This is the steps i did to resolve it

1. make sure u download the newest version of consumerupdate (do a search on the forums)

2. download the adfu driver (do a search on the forums)

3. get your rockchip driver to upgrade mode

instructions on the first post at

many thanks to "knob" for this

4. when windows detects it as a new drive; get it to point to the driver location where you extracted the adfu driver.

5. Once installed; run consumerupgrade software

6. load up a firmware that you know works and voila it updates now....no more "usb device not found" error message

7. remove the usb drive from the machine.

8. Turn your mp4 player on and your device should be working with visual and not just the white screen :)

Notes: however wen i did this fix - right at the end i had to reformat my flash memory drive in windows because the data was corrupt on my player.

I lost my data because i didnt back up but hey it was well worth it; to get it working again

Thanks hugely to "knob", and the guy who wrote the adfu driver.

Hope this fix helps some of you out there who tried fixing the white screen problem and consumerupgrade didnt see your usb device.

cheers
