blake67,try this tips:
1. use another computer if the current one doesn't work.
2. use another working USB cable connector.
3. check the USB connector if it is well connected to the PCB board,if its not use your soldering skills.
4. use a small paint brush and clean the PCB board inside.
5. if 1-3 doesn't work heres your last resort,use a computer that has a WINDOWS 98 Operating System.
6. repeat all of the above,it's a matter of trying.
