generic mp3 not recognised by pc

I have a generic mp3.mp4 which was working well yet now when I plug it into the pc, it pops up with a message that says it is not recognised!
It is now not shown up as a drive G and windows media player wont sync it at all.
Ive tried the pin stroking with tweezers but the same message comes up.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get this recognised again?

I opened the back and the chip is:
Samsung 710 K9LAG08U0M PCB0

Any help would be much appreciated

blake67,try this tips:

1. use another computer if the current one doesn't work.
2. use another working USB cable connector.
3. check the USB connector if it is well connected to the PCB board,if its not use your soldering skills.
4. use a small paint brush and clean the PCB board inside.
5. if 1-3 doesn't work heres your last resort,use a computer that has a WINDOWS 98 Operating System.
6. repeat all of the above,it's a matter of trying.
