MyMPx.org - Dead Actions ATJ2091N

Hi, I m new to this forum board, but 'am pretty sure Ive read most of the posts for resolving this issue 'am a bit on the tech side so I don't have much problems when reading posts on new forums, plus I have spent countless hours on other forums regarding different subject matters, HOWEVER I just can't seem to resolve THIS issue, I have a:

-FM
-ATJ2091N
-Firmware 12864-9.1.51
-Board ZX-6330N

MP3 Utilities V 4.15-4.18

I bought this as a present for my friend, however she complained that she been having problems after 2 months of usage, bought it from a known-generic based seller of mp3-mp4 and usb products.

Main impression of the problem is upon turning on the product, it freezes up on the "hourglass Icon" it s not being assigned a driver letter by windows however is being detected as "actions HS USB device" Ive followed the detailed "Repair" guide on this site, downloaded the appropriate firmware and flashed using the "mp3 player upgrade tool" it shows as flash successful however the player still remains the same. I'm pretty sure the firmware went through because the display contrast became lighter as I specified with "firmware modifier" prior to flashing.

The big question: What needs to be done? the bastards from where I bought it from don't want to replace of accept it as warranty repair because it's beyond their "generous" 3-month service warranty period, take note it s SERVICE warranty NOT REPLACEMENT, I guess you can also call me a cheap bastard but hey? I've always thought these guys are good, considering the "positive" feedback from other buyers, any help would be surely appreciated thanks!
