Dead player with Blue Screen

I bought this supposedly 4GB MP4 player on eBay last week. As soon as I received it I started copying music files to it. Once I had songs of about 1.9 GB, the player refused to accept any more files even though memory info showed that I still had more than 2GB extra space.

I contaced the seller and he asked me to format the player, which I did, and then it started showing real memory as 2GB while connected to my PC. However, now when I turn the player ON, only thing I see is a blue screen. None of the buttons work. I can still use it as a flash drive though. But can't do anything else.

How do I revive this player? Any hopes?

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, you have been scammed. This is a common problem with buying these off eBay. There is a chance it can be fixed, so look around at other forums. This is a fine example of what is called 'Hacked Memory'. Over 250 people (and counting) have the same problem. It varies, but in your case, it sounds like putting more than 1.9 gb worth of media on this MP4 will make the chip crash. I'm sorry I can't give you any links. Hope this helps. But one more thing. Learn a valuable lesson here: If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true!

Hi there. Thanks for your kind response. Just hope I am able to recover this thing - it has been annoying to say the least!
