I got it off of ebay..here is the link if you wanna take a closer peek.
3'' MEZU RM970 MP3 MP4 MP5 FM 4Go 4G RM AVI AMV TA5-4R

apparently there was some solder splash on the TSOPs as they were soldering the chips in by hand.(china quality at its best lol)
I took some pics of the player inside. (note to admins.-> you guys really outta gives us a chance to be able to post pics here for quick reference... just a thought) I made some pics of the board for reference.
I'll post'em elsewhere.

pls lemme know if any of ya has the image for this and pls post it.

thnx a lot
peace out ;)

well first off that title is solely designed to get people in, having rm970, mezu (spelt wrong) ect is to grab as many as possible to the sale

first off this player is now becomming quite common on ebay and it seems the stability and quallity is very dodgy!!!

the 60 meg partition is for the firmware to live in, so where is th other drive partition space gone

i assume there are no files on the 6o meg drive (ther should be several files and folders

we need to get someone with same player to access their partition and copy the files out for you to put back in

basically you have lost all your firmware files so screen wont work etc

no downloads yet as is a new player and LOOK like the onda vx747 player IT IS NOT, onda is different chip altogether

here is the rest of the real info..

Model:
TA5-4Rxl

the firmware:
FR-E4490-463

I dunno if anyone will come about with some more.. I'm hoping lol
As a matter of fact I did copy some RK27SDK.RKW file off of it, even tough the player itself is nil.
I don't really have much experience with these files.
I need to relearn some of my past expertise, since these aren't like the ATJ variant.
It just shows, that being able to engineer hardware has little to do the actual software hacking abilities.. lol ( i need to relearn english also..lmao)
Any pointers?

thnx :)

p.s. the 60 meg should be the hidden partition for the firmware as it will enable the rest of the 4gig as soon as it is operational.
The T-flash is still coming up also as a letter being assign to it under xp..

success! but... it is a wrong firmware and it keeps recycling..hm..
I'm using tons of diff tools and looks like I'm getting closer.
Observation..On the firmware side if you have the right tool for your player it seems you could load just about everything on that thing, but be careful when you resetting the flash as it may could be damaged for good.
I'll keep you posted folks ;)

i lost

where are you at and what firmware are you loading and how

the 60 meg partution needs al the seperate flders on it not just and rkw file, if you have an rkw file it needs splitting and i have a tool for doing that

cheers, jist wondering what you are actually doing???

Re: Rockchip RK2706 player now only has a 60Megs partition

Hello altean,
I have your firmware 100% it will work just need to copy paste 4 folders
into the 60mb space and restart the player all i want from you is to sent me the RK27SDK.RKW of this player and i can sent you the extracted firmware because i cannot put my player into the mode it can see the 60mb because has an old version so this RK27SDK.RKW should be very helpful if you sent it to me.
Is that possible?
the firmware i can sent you is from 2008/30/05 and is exactly the same is shown on the picture with the game icon that accually is the calendar and there isnt any newer as i can know.
This firmware is taken from my other mp5 player same as yours and i was tring to put it into the older one with no luck as i couldnt put the older into disk upgrade mode so if you sent me the *.rkw file i can update it without the need to put into update mode, thing that cannot be enabled into older versions.
please contact me asap.
Thanks in advance
Demetris

Demtris

what older version player are you reffering to???

remember older rockchp players with 26 series chips wont take this firmware???

3'' MEZU RM970 MP3 MP4 MP5 FM 8G RM AVI AMV

Rockchip RK2706

With older firmware than that that came with altean mp4 player.
That is why i want that file to update it to current one.
And if you knew better you would have known that older rk26 chip dont take folders into the firmware but need the consumer update to update, and i wouldnt have to write this message after all, so saving my time and some bytes off the mympxplayer server space

dont you dare even think of giving me that response, how dare you!!!

i asked as i could not quite understand what you were saying and i apologise unreservedly oh master if made you type a few extra words and eat up valuable bytes and of course your precious time!!!!

why do people like you bother coming to places like this for assistance

i certainly will not be applying my apparently limited knowledge to helping you out

honestly, why write like that, seriously why .. why not just answer simply and politely

no way to get the things you require, no way at all

i shall of course leave it to others that know better to send you the files you require, mine will not be up to your satisfaction i am sure!!!

Re: Rockchip RK2706 player now only has a 60Megs partition

Hey makd511 you should take it as a teasing argument and not acting as a spoiled child.
I didnt want to offend anyone here as i dont know anyone here.
Now for the offending lines that you say i said they were just information for you so you could clear up your knowledge + google.
Am not trying to patronize you at all but if my words were so misunderstood
and you feel offended i ow you an apology.
So my dear friend am sorry if i offended you, deeply sorry.
Now i try to clear my self up.
Altean you dont have to sent me the firmware update so i sent you the files,
In the time of typing that messege and the reason i am greek and my mother language is also greek i couldnt express my self clearly.
So Altean to be clear i want to help you out on this and if and i say if you want to you could help me also by senting me the firmware file.
Ok now i think i was clear enough.
See you
