Hi people

Lazy dumb-ass here.

I didn't do any research about buying mp3 players on E-bay before scattering my very hard earned money to the 4 winds.

Now here I am.

Ok, you all ready know how that story ends.

My item was an 8Gb nano clone.

I posted a photo of it in the albums on this site:

I tried uploading 8gb of mp3's to my player when I first got it - that didn't work.

I pulled the player apart, found the chips, ran a search on the flash, and here is what I found:

FLASH: HYNIX - HY27UT088G2A TPCB

SMALLER CHIP: AK1025 8A015AB 0C3

BOARD: XY126V1

When I complete the very well written guides on this site, the size the computer finds my flash to be is 986mb.

What do you think the truth is?

I am brand new to this and am totaly lost.

If any body thinks they know what my player's real capacity may be, and how to fix it. (blue screened after the first 4 hours) then please let me know.

Oh, and if you know what firm ware I need to end my days of fruitless searching, I would be forever in your debt.

This forum is active, but sometimes too active that posts do get missed. Unfortunately it seems your post has been missed amongst the vast of new posts.

We try to help as much as possible, but remember, this is a FREE SUPPORT site so we are giving help in our spare time. No one here gets paid to help and post replies so we try to do our best.

I did a quick search for our Hynix chip model and found this --> http://www.semiconductor.com/resourc...sinumber=19737 which states it is an 8GB chip. However, that's not to say that the manufacturers are now getting really sneaky and printing incorrect information on the memory chip. This has been known to have happened so don't be surprised.

The other issue you're having is that it blue screens after 4 hours? Is that right? Is that happening all the time or doe sit blue screens straight away?

The other question you asked is about firmware. I wouldn't recommend trying to flash your player with another firmware right now. There is too much of a high risk in having a 'dead player' as a result of it. All you need to do is look at the "Dead Players" section of this forum to get what I mean.

Yes i now this Game ! this NAND Flash is a 8Gb = 8 Giga Bit = 1GBYTE !!!!

so the sticker they put on the player and the hacked firmware, all part of the con?

is there any real 8000 mb nano clones for sale?

I dont now, but fact is that for example the AK1025 can only adress 8GB but only with 1 Chip because the AK1025 has only 2 CE (Chip enable lines).
and if i look to the price of a 8GByte Nand Flash with approximade 20,- € that i think that the most mp4 player with more than 4GB (and a price low than 20,- € ) are fake players !
The bad thing is that they use Softwaretools to simulate a bigger Flash Size than the real Size is.
After a format you will get errors or the player will not play more the files / copy files to the Flash !
