Half Dead Player...
Hello, I'm new in the forum and the MP4s...Two weeks ago I bought a nobrand 4GB 2.8" TOUCH SCREEN MP4 player for my son. He played with it for a short time. 3 days ago he said that it went off after putting in some songs in it and unplugging it from the PC. Now it works half! If you plug it to the PC you can go into the player and put or delete whatever you want. If you plug it to the AC charger, it begins charging and at that time you can turn it on and use it properly. But when you unplug it either from the charger or the PC it goes off and no way to turn it on...I did a search at internet and I learned that it should not be upgraded. I asked my son if he upgraded it, he said "NO" but he may be lying, because he's interested in electronics and PC more than me.
Now the player is usable when plugged to the PC or tha AC charger, but without plugging it, it's useless. It's impossible to use it freely. When I plug it to the AC charger it begins, and after a few hours, finishes charging. When I opened the inside to check the connections of the battery, they seemed OK. But I don't know if ihe battery is dead. By the way the player had an opening screen as "MINI MP4 PLAYER", and aclosing screen as " GOODBYE" , but now they've dissapeared. When plugged to the charger I can turn it on, but I can't off!... Does any of you has any idea about this problem? Is it a hardware or a software problem? I will be very appreciated if there's a solution... Knowledge about tha player: Ver:00.00.0001 Date: 2007-12-11 Flash mem: 3145/4002 MB Card mem: 0/0 MB The chips of the player: ROCKCHIP RK 2608A ELPIDA S1616AOTA-75-E SAMSUNG 810 K9HBG08*U1M PCBO SPT SP3767AHN 08AT27 I know nothing abuot the board. There's a writing at the back: TS568 2,8TFT V2.0 20071115 And the pictures of it: http://img369.imageshack.us/img369/2073/93926577xo9.jpg The menu http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/7461/62528836ft7.jpg The inside http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/4301/54287566hr2.jpg While playing a song... http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/5584/25916137aq6.jpg |
Can the player still play music and videos at all, and can you get to the settings menu?

Re: Half Dead Player...
Yes knob, the player play songs and movies, and I can reach to he menu, but only plugging it to the AC charger. I've done all the resets; with the button out side and from settings menu...

Assuming your son has not tried to "upgrade" the player then it looks like a component failure in the charging circuit.
If you would like to try to repair and your son can solder and do some electronics there is a schematic for this type of player in the downloads. Since you have only had the player 2 weeks, it would be best returning to the seller for a refund or replacement. btw don't blame your son, many of these players are very poorly made, a lot of people are having problems with them, . |
Re: Half Dead Player...
Well, thanks for your interest. But as I said before I'm a newbie and I don't where to look for the schematic. And also I'm interested in soldering but the main problem is knowing and deciding where to solder...

may be you have to check the power switch

Re: Half Dead Player...
I checked it. When it's unplugged it seems like it's not working. But when plugged to the AC charger ıt works for only turning on but not for off...

Re: Half Dead Player...
It may be a failure in the charging component or battery.... Does it charge when plugged?
|
Re: Half Dead Player...
Yes, when plugged it begins charging and after 1-2 hours the logo of the battery shows full and it finishes charging...

Re: Half Dead Player...
Hmm... Did you look inside the player to see if the wires are properly connected or anything related to power? :?:
