RK2608A - dead player

Hello friends,
I am owner of player based on RK2608A and two memory chips SAMSUNG (complete 16GB - 2x8GB K9HCG08U1M),mainboard - T39RCSD-V.2.0.It is similar to Teclast T39R but I am not absolutely sure.Firmware of this player crashed while normally playing music. After that I tried to upgrade firmware.Device was automatically in ROCKUSB mode.So the upgrade was possible to start but sometimes it fails with error message "There are too many BAD blocks."I used Refresh Firmware version 3.1.2.0.Maybe the re-initialization of NAND could be helpful.I tried to use the NAND TOOL and FIX TOOL,but without any success because both utilities have problem to detect real amount of memory-it seems that NAND_TOOL can not handle so large amount of memory as is in my player.NAND TOOL only detects the producer - SAMSUNG and type MLC,but no amount is indicated,so both programs will not go on.Now the player is absolutely unstable, almost dead. After repeated firmware upgrade it crashes almost immediately and returns into ROCKUSB mode and battery discharges like it was running,it seems that it is active all the time,so I feel fear of destroying it due deep battery discharge. So solution is easy and not easy at the same time...To wait for newer version of NAND_TOOL  or to find somebody who is able to uncover the secret of NAND_TOOL and modify it for using with larger amounts of memory  ,but I am not absolutely sure if this is possible,I am not programmer,it is only my theory...So,now my player is dead and waits for hammer hit :| or for good solution which coud bring it back to life....
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards
Martin

Re: RK2608A - dead player

Hi Martin

Sorry to say all I can suggest is try every firmware you can of RK2608, with touch screen and looks like your player.

Has the bad block problem gone now? can you still reload another firmware?

Have you tried this firmware?
http://www.mympxplayer.org/sorry-but...r-vp49827.html.

The problem is there don't seem to be many players around like yours, it's gonna to be near impossible to find a firmware that works. :(

Thank you,Knob....

Thank you,Knob, for your fast feedback but there is no need to test other firmware.I have original firmware. So the only problem is - how to re-initialize NAND when NAND TOOL can not handle so big amount of memory.Any ideas :?:

Martin

When I had the "Bad Block" problem I loaded this to clear it:-

Not sure if it will work for you but I was able to load my original firmware back again afterwards.

Thank you again,Knob....

.....but Zarva firmware does not solve anything in my case, because the Zarva updater does not support my type of player´s flash. So the only way is to reset NAND...But how....
Best regards

with 16 gb of memory i really do not think there will be a tool made to manage that amount of memory yet

i rhink its www.mydigit.cn that usually have the latest NAND tool, but as 16gb will be unheard of in the chinese market i can see no one updating the tool for this

i may be wrong, bu also like i said before, for me , once the bad blocks came, it was the beginning of the end for 2 of my players

Just FYI what Nand_tool shows when trying to analyze my player......
Btw.,thank you Muratgyte, but I do not need firmware.I have functional firmware, the problem seems to be - corrupted NAND.
Any ideas?
Best regards
Martin
