rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
hey,
at first...sorry for my bad english. i'm from german and it's a coupleof years ago since i've used my english :) i'Ve got a problem with my mp4 player (named in the topic). it died when i changed background. but a new firmware is not the problem. at first, i only saw one partition with 8gb, not the hidden for the firmware. i tried it with rkusb.tag, but no reaction. then, i copied the setup.rkw in the main folder and restarted the player. when i connected the player again, my pc started to install a new usb-device rock27usb. at this moment when i trie to connect my mp4 player, nothing happens. no bootletter appears and i can't change anything :( hope someone can help me with my problem. what can i do?? thanks |
Have you got a copy of your firmware?
If yes then try to install it using this here:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...v25-df881.html |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
hey...thanks for your answer. i cant install anything, because i have no access to the mp4 player :(....it is not listed anymore :(
|
Have you got a photo of your player?
Where did you buy it from? |
at the point that windows tries to install a new usb device, if you point it to the correct drivers, not let windows do it, it should give you the hidden partition, this happened with mine, reformat it and then copy the files back

Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
beenchee,
try this software http://www.mp4nation.net/downloads/s...UPGRADEKIT.rar It helped me. Maybe it'll work in your case too. 1. Start the program 2. Choose the firmware (the one attached) 3. Connect the player 4. Click the button with U 5. Then just confirm several times. If it works your player should be visible in windows as a new drive. If so then 1. Copy teclast.sys to the player 2. Disconnect it 3. Connect again. You should be able to see the hidden partition. 4. Copy over your original firmware. 5. Disconnect the player 6. Switch it on. Let us know if this works. Good luck PS Inspiration makd511 :) in this thread http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...k-vt11084.html |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
@bo_lek
at first...thank you :) the followed your instruction from point 1-5, although i clicked the R button, and now the player is visible in windows again :)...so far, so good :) but the next step to reactivate the hidden partition failed, although i followed your instructions :( no hidden partition is shown... futher, i opend the rk27dm software and choose tl-t50.rkw file, pushed the r-button and he started to do something. the operation seemed succsessful (without knowing what i has done). but nevertheless, the hidden partition doesen't appear :( |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
by the way...the player, former shown as rockshipxxx, is now shown as teclast digital player.
|

It is visible vas teclast device as you used their software. I'm kind of lost you don't see the hidden partition after copying the teclast.sys file. It worked in my case. |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
hmm...another instruction?...
is it easier doin by macintosh? I've got an mac, g4, too... |
Quote:
So let's try to run the software this time with U button. After successful completion copy the teclast.sys file, disconnect and connect again, and let's pray you see the hidden partition :D BTW you've got the original FW, haven't you? |
did you get promted at any point to install new drivers by windows
sometimes the U button does not activate, i have pressed ther R button before and it failed, but when i disconnected and then reconnected the computer asked for new drivers, i pointed it to the rockchip drivers and the partition was there, reformatted it and all was well |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
soo...here i'am :)
this morning, i opened my mp4 player and i saw an a ship named rockchip 2706. so, can i be sure that my player is based on a rockchip, can't i? i think to install the tl-t50.rkw was the wrong way, wasn't it? when i connect my player to the pc, there is still only found one boot-letter, not the hidden partition :( it seems, that windows has the right usb-drivers and it didn't asked me to install any drivers again. when i connect the player, the screen went white...but nothing more :( please help me find my hidden partition to install the firmware again :) |
are you on an XP mahine??
the T50 files are not a problem dont worry about that, its purely for recovery, they are only there to enable the program to do its stuff, after that we can put on your original files ... do you have original files have you copied teclast.sys to the main drive and reconnected you really need an xp machine, mac wont work and vista is a pain i ahve recovered several players with the rk27dm too so far whot os are you on |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
http://img.tinydeal.com/mp3/ta5a.jpg
to be clear, did your player look like this when it was working?? did you make a backup of the firmware? when you tried to load setup.rkw file, what file/firmware was that?? if it is like the player in the image, i have that exact one and also suffered a loss of partition for no reason at all, just died through normal use i used the rk27dm tool, the R button did not light up for me so i pressed the U button this appeared to fail .. but when i reconnected the player to windows xp, xp saw a new drive and asked for drivers, i pointed it to the drivers, not let it go by itself, it installed and i had my partition, it needed formatting and then all was OK |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
hey makd511...
yes, my player lookes like the picture you linked. i havent got an exact copy of my firmware :(...but i think, that the RK27SDK.RKW is needed and i can't find it anywhere :( ehat do you mean with "install setup.rkw"...how can i install it? since i had upload the t50-files, the screen went white and nothing happend. what drivers did you give windows to install? |

with these player the files and firmware are very specific, you can not just use any files, and it may be a problem that you do not have the originals, but MAY be ok as we have a few firmware that may work an RKW file is a full firmware file, there will be NO RKW file for your player, so we have to use an RKW file from another player for the programs to work, what we then need is all the INDIVIDUAL firmware files to later copy to your player |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
hey makd511...
i come closer...:)...i copied the teclas.sys and the hidden partition appears :)...what kewl...i installed the firmware to the hidden partition, restarted the player aaaaaand....he went blue :) but nothing more... i started the whole sh... again...with the rk27dm tool, but i can't push the u-button and with the r button it failed and failed and failed :(...somethings seems wrong with the usb or flash...thats all i can read when the progress stopped. further..there is no boot letter shown :((... |
right, now we have the hidden partition available you do not need to use the DM tool again
the problem with the blue screen will be that the firmware is wrong for your player which firmware did you try>> there are about 3 i think that may wotk with the player now you need to copy RKUSB.tag to the player as well as teclast.sys do not need to use the tool again as we have the drive now and rkusb.tag will now let us access it, so do not use tool again you need to try the different firmware avilable for you style player only BTW are you sure then blue screen was not just the calibration screen, did it have small crosses on the screen |
When the firmware folder is open do not copy a compressed .RKW firmware file into the firmware partition it just will NOT work.
You need to copy 4 folders containing the firmware only, named thus:- APPDATA RESOURCE SYSTEM SYSTEM00 There are 3 downloads with the correct folders in ready here, try each 1 and reboot your player until you find 1 that works:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...-pm-df907.html http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...-pm-df906.html http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...706-df897.html More information on this is here:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/firmware-...s-vt10856.html Good Luck! |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
ok...still blue screen :(...when i connect the player to the pc, NO boot letter :(((...why????...it is good that my english skills are not suffice to curse :)
|
does blue screen have any RED CROSS on it
on my player that is like your player a BLUE SCREEN is for screen calibration, or a special screen to make the ouch screen work look in the top left or right corners for SMALL RED CROSSES are there any on your blue screen and did you tray all the firmware that knob listed for you |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
When your player is dead you can use the "R" button on RK27DM.exe (Rockchip Device Manager) program just to get your player into rockUSB mode - (monitor this in remove hardware icon manager)
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...lipboard01.jpg Then you can use the Upgrade tool to install the firmware folders (no rkusb.tag needed) download upgrade tool here:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...v25-df881.html Player needs to be in RockUsb mode to use this, remember to check this in remove hardware icon manager) http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...lipboard03.jpg So 1) If your player is dead and your firmware partition is damaged then connect it to usb. 2) Run RK27DM.exe and load in any RKW firmware. 3) If the R button is active (you are lucky success is guaranteed) just press it, (if no R button is active then install the rockusb27.sys driver) 4) Click YES on the 2 message boxes that come up and watch for the RockUsb icon (in remove hardware) 5) when its done close the RK27DM.exe program (still with the RockUSB icon active) 6) Run the upgrade tool you just downloaded. 7) Load firmware folders into upgrade tool. 8 ) Press the upgrade button and watch it do it's thing 9) When finished you just need to format the main 8GB memory in Fat 32 and you're Done! 8) I used this method to recover my player yesterday when i corrupted the firmware by shutting the pc down with the player connected.. It worked a treat for me, but remember it doesn't work if your firmware partition is good. but you can use teclast.sys or rkusb.tag on a good partition instead.. |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
ok...i tried every step you instructed, but everywhere, theres something with a wrong "code". thats all i can read in this hieroglyphs :(
|
But did you get the RockUsb icon?
Yes I know, it isn't easy using the chinese software, But if you can get into RockUsb mode you should be able to recover your player. |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
ok..i tired again and again...but no success :(
have anyone an idea how i can get access to player again...to the main folder?? no boot letter appears |
The RK27DM.exe (Rockchip Device Manager) should recreate the main folder for you by pressing the "R" button.
Are you sure you didn't already repair it?, remember you need to right click it in windows explorer and format it before you can use it. |
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
no way with RK27DM.exe. it faild again and again. i don't know if i repaired id or not. the problem is, that i can'T see anything in the explorer :(
|
Re: rockchip rk2706 more than dead...
ok..little brainstorm....at the time i had access to the main folder, i copied the setup.rkw file (which is attatched in the sfloupgradekid) to the main folder, restarted the player and since THEN i hadn't have access to the player...
|
setup.rkw is no good for you, this will NOT work for you
we need 2 drives please connect you player to your computer wait for it to connect go to safely remove hardware and double click now take a screen print of the window that pops up and upload it for us to see |
