i used the dead player recovery guide and im half way there i just need to know what firmware my mp4 or da 1 i need is bcuz the screen doesnt come on but i can plug it up to the pc

Hi shimmy,

You need to open up your player and find the plate and board ID numbers. Then take a look at www.s1fw.com and search for it there to see if you can find a compatible firmware for your player.

all i c is 2 black chips and one says samsung 649 and more under it and the other says atj2091h and numbers n letters under it

Yeh, that ATJ2091J is the chipset, which is a good start.

Please post the other numbers. You can then search for it on www.s1fw.com to see if you can find a compatible firmware.

the numbers are FC027FA CCS
