That would be this one: http://www.popchip.cn/ProductShow.asp?id=220
If it functions as U disk that means CPU and flash are OK. Have you tried putting files on it and pressing the buttons in the regular order to see if it can play them? |
Re: Help me find a mp4 firmware for my dead mp4 player

Re: Help me find a mp4 firmware for my dead mp4 player
Hi, I think i have a similar problem. My MP4 player used to be 4GB with FM radio, Text reader, picture viewer, AMV player and now its a 1GB USB memory stick. I have some details of the player but it's unbranded.
MEM Chip = HY27UT088G2M Control = ak1025 PCB = LH-013A13 V0.2 2007-01-08 Screen = XY-1.8B-V1 (on Flexi) On side = XY-1 8TBN-KM 07-09-14 Firmware versions reported by player before it died. LSC_91N113V_A1 2007-08-31 9.1.52 2005-01-09 please help with advice on how to reprogram it and a link if possible to the firmware. Regards, Gary |

That's an 8Gb chip, or 1GB. 4GB was a lie. Also, you try this firmware: http://www.s1fw.com/Actions-AK102X/A...LC-SLC-FM.html |
Re: Help me find a mp4 firmware for my dead mp4 player
lolita,
Thankyou for the reply. I have downloaded the Firmware you suggested and flashed it into the player, but i still get a white screen. Have i done something wrong? i used MP3 player utilities 4.15 to flash the player. i have a pic of the front/back of the unit in case it helps, how do i put a pic in the post? |
Re: Help me find a mp4 firmware for my dead mp4 player
Hi, this is very strange. when i plug the player into the PC it is now seen as 3 devices! 1 x 960MB disk, 1 x 2GB CDROM and 1 x 512KB disk. I can access/read/write the 960MB part but not any of the other 2 parts.
Any ideas? on what i have done? Regards, Gary |
Re: Help me find a mp4 firmware for my dead mp4 player
The disk mode is set to multi instead of single.
This can be changed in Setup -> Online Disk Mode but you'll have to get your display working with the right driver. Or you might just have a dead display, does it still show hourglass on bootup? |
Re: Help me find a mp4 firmware for my dead mp4 player
I should explain more.
The mp4 used to be ok but it started to duplicate mp3's (I would get 5 or 6 exact duplicates file name/size everything) and courrupt them, FW corruption i thought! I downloaded a copy of what i thought was the firmware (Wilson Co Ltd 9.1.52) and it programmed OK but then when it rebooted i had a white screen only. Now i wish i had just left it alone and asked for help first :( I have looked on a number of forums for help and used the Dead Player recovery guide but as i didn't have an original FW dump it's hard to recover it. As far i can tell the screen is ok its just the driver for it thats missing / not being read. I have checked the flexi on the screen and it is OK so i think it may be driver related. Any suggestions on how to get the driver? |

You'll have to try the display drivers from all of those firmwares which seem to match your screen #. Display drivers are the ui_*.drv files inside the firmware. Procedure is here: http://www.s1mp3.org/en/docs_advanceduguide.php Summary: - Extract all files of your current partially functional firmware. Keep a copy of the drivers and remember their filenames. - Choose another firmware and extract the files of that firmware. Copy the display driver files over and make sure they have the same names as they were originally (e.g. replace ui_6b33l.drv with e.g. a ui_7515l.drv but rename it back to ui_6b33l.drv) - Repack firmware into single file and flash it - Repeat above steps until device works |
