dead player - frozen screen

i have a chinese copy of an iphone type player, 8gb with 4gb mini sd slot, worked ok for a couple of days but now the screen is frozen, im at a loss with what to do with it, any help would be much appreciated

Format the 8Gb of memory to fat32 in windows and press the reset hole on the corner of the player.

Don't try to "upgrade" the firmware, you will kill your player for sure.
