Firmware upgrading problem

i tried to upgrade the firmware of my player
but everytime mp3 player product tool tries to upgrade it,
the usb gets disconnected..
it's in USB 2.0 (HS) ADFU Device

p.s.
i tried to format my player into fat32
but it keep saying cant format
and the size of my player decreased 4G to 2G
wuts the problem??
