Re: Need *.RKW for MP5 Player RK2706 China

I've backup my data but i cant install it back. I've copy the folders into my MP5 flash drive but it hang after i reboot it. I think i already mess up the MP5 firmware when installing RM970.RKW file using RK27DM version 1.4.0. Now i only want to install my original files back. Please help..

makd511 23rd Oct 2008 12:46 am

be carefull with these players as there are some that only lookm.ike the original ramos rm970 pplayer

of your player has screws on the side holding the case together then the firmware hotboxx gave you wont work
as it is for a genuine RM970 clone player, the players with screw on the side are copies and as such can not use any firmware from either the original RM970 or other rebrands

is your player broken??

makd511 23rd Oct 2008 12:59 am

did you make a back up f the FIRMWARE partiton files not your own data files, in other words did you use the rkusbtag method???

if you did not back up the files then we have problem because as far as i know we have no suitable files of that player to use

once again does the player have screws on the side, if so then NONE of the following firmware files will work
RM970 original - not work
RM970 OEM (no brand) - not work
moiblu T30 - not work
pentagram cineo - not work
these wont work as they are all for the same type of player, if your palyer has screws its completely diffefent

best bet is to email that company and ask for copy files then we can recover it

first confirm .. screws???

Re: Need *.RKW for MP5 Player RK2706 China

Player not broken just missing firmware. I've install RM970 the player showed the ramos screen but not to bright (not clear/dark).. player button not function because of wrong firmware. I've backup all the original folder before replacing the RM970 firmware, now i dont know to install the folders back. I already copy the folders into the hidden partition and reboot the players but it hang.

Hi hotboxx..

I cant download the file. Is there any other site to download it. I try using Eon_Slide_R_Firmware_v1.09 but my player showed white screen after booting.

makd511 23rd Oct 2008 1:42 am

what happens when connected to the computer
can u still see your main memory??
the file hotboxx linked is not for your player either, its is the same as the rm970 player firmware and will not work on your player

can u see the main memory??

Hi..

It is not empty. There are 4 folders and 1 file.

APPDATA
RESOURCE
SYSTEM
SYSTEM00

and file RKFSWFRC.FRC

makd511 23rd Oct 2008 10:32 pm

well this is the firmware partition and those are the firmware files, just copy your originals over all these

so you say you made a copy of your original files?? if so you should have a similar set of folders to these on your omputer .. yes.

if not then we need to find some from somewhere

if you have originals from your player
ten

delete the files o the player partition
copy over the files from your back up on to the partition
do not disconnect the player until you have copied over all the files and the firmware partition has the same named folders in BUT the ones from YOUR backup
dafely disconnect and reset the player

does the player have a reset hole???
if not try and hold the power switch down for just over ten seconds to force a reset

if you have backed up your originals you should be fine here

I've another problem, now i cant see the system partition even using rkusb.tag and my mp5 showed white screen after installing Eon_Slide_R_Firmware_v1.09

makd511 28th Oct 2008 4:06 am

not sure if this will work on your fake rm970 lookalike player
but try and press and keep pressing the M button and then connect to the computer (keeping M pressed), wait a while and see if windows recognises that player (may take 10 seconds or so)

if not then you need to look in the firmware for the eon slide with a hex editor and find the name of the files used to access the partition, it may be a different name than the rksub tag

also do you have a backup, i am unsure from what you write here, if not then you can not recover the player, it needs to be the original or from an identical player

makd511 28th Oct 2008 4:14 am

try renaming the rkusb.tag file to this:

Wisky.sys

rkusb.tag wont work with the eon firmware as it is not referenced anywhere so rename the tag file to that i have stated above

but again, you need your own firmware files

Hotboxx 28th Oct 2008 4:37 am

YOu can also try frk.tag

thanks a lot.. wisky.sys work.. I've found the missing partition. I copied my original firmware files.. but after reset (hold play button for a few seconds and heard a tick sound) but the screen still blank (black color).

mm, i wonder if you have the same problem as another user i that the lpayer is actually working but the backlight setting is wrong and is set on a faulty one mking the screen black??

when you turn the plyer on now do you get the stat up animation then the screen go black??, if so then we can blindly navigate to the settings screen and adjust the bright setting

you are going to have to format it, this maybe the hidden partition again, when done formatting DO NOT REMOVE THE PLAYER from the computer, it the newly formatted partition is small (80-90meg) then this is the firmware partition and you will need to copy over you backup files again and then seafely disconnect the player and restart
