Daewoo DMG-P51 (1Gb) Stuck at "loading" screen
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC00010-1.jpg
Yesterday my Daewoo MP4 run out of energy, and when i tried to connect it to the computer it got stuck at the loading screen, turning the screen off and on. Which is quite a mess, since it only connects to the computer once it has passed this screen. So, there is no real way to apply new firmware, format, or even access its contents as a storage device. I do not know if this guide ---> http://www.mympxplayer.org/dead-play...ide-vt567.html would apply to this mp4, since this mp4 seems to rely on its firmware to connect as a usb device in the first place. Has anyone here got any advice, or experiences related to similar Daewoo devices? |
Re: Daewoo DMG-P51 (1Gb) Stuck at "loading" screen
Open it up, find CPU and board ID.
If it's Actions-based, then this will happen when the firmware passes the initial load check but is corrupted, so that it tries to run corrupted firmware instead of entering ADFU mode. That can be solved by shorting the data pins of the flash while powering up. |
BIG UPDATE!
Seems one of the screws was damaged. Thus, i used the most obviopus solution; persuade by force. Those mp4 were obviously not designed to cope with a damaged screw. I had to pull the cover off with the screwdriver. But, seems that i used too much strenght in the wrong spot, and... Tadaaa! http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...DSC00010-2.jpg Cell phone picture, not exactly good quality. Now i have to fix that ASAP =P |
Hmm, is that the quartz crystal or something else? Anyway, if you don't have low-power soldering equipment you can get it fixed at a cell phone service center.

Sorry, that doesn't seem to be Actions-based.
That main chip looks too big to be an ATJ/ACU/AK. Get a soldering iron and solder that part back on. |

Actually is an ATJ2097N :)
When the transistor came out flying across the room we were all laughing so hard the after that my stomach hurted. And i forgot to check the ID  I was with a couple of friends, it turned out to be a great source of comedy. One of the jokes was that i would have been really succesful as a midwife. |

Daewoo offers its firmware in the official webpage (http://www.daewoo.cl/productos/mp3/firms/DMG-P51.zip ). I'm not really interested in any video app, since i only use my mp4 as a regular mp3 with a pretty interface. I am satisfied with what it does until now (the fact it plays ogg makes me very happy, since half of my music collection is in vorbis. It also reads txt, which allows me to read in the bus) Should i stick to the regular firmware - 6116v1.5 -FM_0323.fw - , or there is something i should look forward in other alternate firmware?
Pd; I'm quite happy about this thread. When i first used google looking for "Daewoo dmg-p51" + fix , problems, stuck, loading and such, i came out with no real results. Now this topic is in the second page of google when you put "daewoo dmg-p51", so anyone else having this same problem will find answers here. |
Keep-your-firmware. Period.
You try to upgrade the firmware then next thing you know you're posting in the Dead Players section. Not pretty. |
