Ikawa IKA328FM dead, blank display - hard to find FW

First of all, excuse me for seeking help on my very 1st post... i've been lookin' this excelent site for many time now and learned a LOT from all of you :), and fixed so many dead MPx thingies... that's the number 1 thing i need to say: Thank you.

I can't fight alone with this one: 2Gb, no speaker or TF slot, MP4 nano 3rd gen clone.

Board:
MV-328FM-AK1025-MV2
2007.10.29

LCD:
2007.10.19
FPC-C177VHS_3-A1
SANIO1

Trust me, i've searched every site.. every firmware that could possibly work, but no luck. Original symptom was the infamous black/blue screen all of a sudden, with the player only functioning as USB storage (player function totally lost)... tried by LCD model, exact and possible matches, by board ID and even trial-n-error... all to no avail.

Some FWs simply kill the player, and I need to short the flash IC to get into ADFU mode. Others allow the thing to work as USB storage, but with the black screen. No one ever show the hourglass or so :(... BTW, the only program that works well with the player is MP3 Product Tools 4.19, others don't even recognize him.

I'm kinda convinced that the problem is with the LCD model, and that no other MP4 uses this one, as no info can be found on the net. Only a bunch of (ok, not so many) people with the same player & problem... been thinkin' on modding the FW to add a driver for the display controller, just like i did with my older 512M dubble-speakerone. But if I cant even find info on the LCD...

Truly i don't know what to do now. Please help me

pd. sorry 4 my neanderthal english, i'm from Chile & this isn't my native language...

BKS25056-MV6A(N:071116)或BKS91&13053-V2 FPC-C177VHS-3-A1.rar seems like it should contain a driver for the FPC-C177VHS-3.

I'm not sure, but the 177 suggests LCM is using Samsung S6Bxxxx series controller since that is only one I know of which has "177 common" segment lines.

Thanks :o ... but i can't download the file (asks for login i guess), also I don't know chinese...

Will try searching for BKS25056-MV6A firmware then... I'll post here if it works, hope it will.

Re: Ikawa IKA328FM dead, blank display - hard to find FW

Nope... tried with this: BKS25056-FGD177FLW-2-7-20. Result: LCD dead, player in mass storage mode only.

Just learned FGD177FLW has nothing to do with FPC-C177VHS...

So the only solution is to get the file that you mentioned, but i can't get it. Is there another place from i can download this? Because it seems to be the only compatible FW (at least the LCM driver) :(

Or, if you have access to that file... Would it be too much hassle if I ask you to upload to some other site, please? would be greatly appreciated...

Re: Ikawa IKA328FM dead, blank display - hard to find FW

Sorry for bumping this after 1+ month, just informing what happened with the player. As i have plenty of soldering skills (and in the end i could not find any suitable firmware, or how to "assemble" one), finally i got upset with the thing and dismantled it , as follows:

- LCD go to a BKS25056 board w/broken screen, working fine since then
- Plastic/metal case, battery & buttons also go to that same player
- Radio module... put it on a Rockchip player, replacing a bad one
- Samsung 2Gb flash chip is now on a IDE-flash module on a MiniITX board :P

As for the AK1025 chip (& other minor pieces), dunno if it's pin-compatible with ATJ20xx or similar, until then it's saved on my desk drawer... sure i will use them sooner or later, as i have right next to me a box FULL of bad players  that need repairing, got'em real cheap on a eBay-like site here in Chile...

Thanks lolita for all your help :)

Re: Ikawa IKA328FM dead, blank display - hard to find FW

You finally found out the LCM driver? What did the BKS25056 have originally?

AK1025 is directly compatible with ATJ2091. Pinout should be the same as well.

http://wiki.s1mp3.org/ATJ2091#AK1025

If you have many parts you can ask s1mp3.org project, they may have some use for them.

No... in the end I moved on to repair other players, and stored that one for later analysis.
As i've found nothing on the net, used his parts for repairing other players lol.

I'm making a backup of the other good BKS25056 player with s1clone, but it's taking AGES to do it...

If it ends ok i will upload that to the download page :)

edit:
Forgot to say this, the BKS25056 originally had a ST7732 display. And s1clone gets stuck and doesn't extract anything so i cant upload FW... at least there is various versions around for that board.
