stuck in the middle of dead player restoration help needed!

hello all
I am stuck in the dead player restoration process
I have reached the step of turning my player into a
USB adfu device. each time i connect the usb the computer
sees it as such

However I am unable to use the firm update tool
as it keeps giving me out the error message
Not Found any Rock USB device
and so I can't upload the firmware and it stays dead with just
the screen light working with the on of button.

I need to mention the I have formatted it twice since and it did not help

The player is a onda VX858LE clone with the following firmware

I think a suitable version is
00.00.0004 2008.1.11 (Firmware_00.00.0004_2008.rfw)


Please help!!!

I can't use any other firmware upgrade utility as they won't install
on my computer just the consumerupdate 2.8.1

You need to be in RockUsb mode to upload the firmware.

I managed to solve my own problem

just for anyone who'se looking.

In order to enable the firmware upgrade utility to see the player:

1. After windows opens the USB to say it recognized a device I stop it and immediately afterward apply the tweezers to shortcut the chip again until I hear the USB sound from the computer

2. Once it is heard I press the upgrade button on the firmware upgrade tool and it works.



So far I have done it about 10 times and each time the firmware was the wrong one living me with mirror images or not functional menus so I'm still searching for the right firmware so far no luck

remember to remove any non-recognised chinese characters from the filename or it wont load into consumerUpdate and you will get firmware file error.
