HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
Hi All,
I really need some assistance with my MP5 player. It was working, really awesome, when I got it, DON’T KNOW WHY I HAD TO GO AND MESS ARROUND WITH IT…. I have tried all your listed solutions, I have tried about 32 different forms, I have downloaded round about 348mb worth of drivers, firmware tools, chip detectors… IM TOTALLY AND UTTERY AT MY WITS END…  Here is what happened, I attempted a firmware update of the device, downloaded and copied across to the device the rkusb.tag and got to see the ‘hidden Partition” I opened the previously download rk27dm.exe file from rockchips, V1.4.0. The program detected the mp5 and I clicked the upgrade button….. After the successfully reported upgrade, I turned on my mp5 to find the interface all messed up. I reconnected and formatted the flash partition and copied my backup of it back into it, thinking that would solve the problem. Disconnected and turned on, white screen for about 4 second and then back off is all I got. Reconnected and browsed to flash partition, same drive letter, but its empty and as an added bonus, it is no longer the hidden partition but part of the main flash. Displaying size as 4,012GB free space, tried recopying the rkusb.tag file to there, but still on reconnection nothing. Tried the rk27dm.exe again, this time it does not even detect the mp5. Uninstalled the drivers, rebooted, reconnected, reinstalled….. on 3 systems, 2 x win xp pro sp3, 1 x vista ultimate. It has not one asked for drivers but rather installs automatically windows drivers for the rockchip usbdisk (user usb disk.) tried updating with drivers supplied with your “RK RESTORE KIT” but comes up with error, no information for your device… Downloaded drives and and and and and you get the picture…. I’m now prepared to through it in the trash and forget the money, please could you help me I have no where ells to turn and I’ve been at it none stop for 13 HOURS!!! I don’t have a brand name but its Blue/black, “M” instead of play button. Rk2706 chip, Samsung chip also with markings: “340, k4s281632E, tc75, vrh36pzn korea”. A hiynix flash module and a small chrontel chip. Looks exactly like the Coversion Free 3" 16:9 QVGA 4GB MP4 MP3 MP5 Player LA2-4R sold by: http://www.tinydeal.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=627 All the specs on the site and the specs on the leaflet is the same… No other labeling or markings found inside or outside, nothing on the VIRUS RIDDEN driver disk that came with it (nothing runs from there anyway, all exe’s read only… ) and nothing in the small leaflet. PLEASE HELP!!!! The bad thing is, and this is why I cannot through it against a very tempting brick wall, is that is was an early Christmas present… and I messed it up after exactly 3 hours from getting it… 8) very cool I Know. Please i beg you help me get this thing back from the grave. I bow to your endless wisdom! |
Good thing you have a backup.
Try this guide it worked for my player and mine looks just like yours. http://www.mympxplayer.org/rk27xx-se...-pm-df957.html |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
Hi man thanks for the quick reply,
been there already though, here is a screen shot of the latest mp4nation "RK Restore Kit" MMM ok dont know how to link a pic... any how, comes up under status as player not found. when it first gave problems i did this though now it does not detect under ANY tools. comes up in windows devices though and can access the main 4gb flash under explorer. that is my main problem now. tried this on 3 different systems, not coming up...ugh. when connected to pc device only displays white screen. |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
hi again,
i have tried several more techniques for getting the updater tool to recognise the player but it just doesnt want too. came accross a forum talking about manualy creating the secondary partition with a util called winhex and some drive hacking but haha that did not work! sooo here i am again ... its been 28 hours now... beginning to loose brain function. i've opened the player again... here are the board code located under the LCD Screen: carasion logo CR3005TFV3.3 20080904 and a date on the lcd ribbon reads: 08.09.01 JCT029A I realy hope this helps a bit.... |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
oh one more thing,
i dug around on the backup of the firmare and with the gui mod tool had a look at the interface. the main spash screen(when it was still funtional) displayed "Smyka" no idea who or what that is, could not find any mention of this name, except for someone on facebook...ugh... I have found that the human body prohibits one to cry while screaming profanities, sad because this is exactly what i want to do!!!! |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
you need to get your player into Rockusb mode, i ended up shorting the pins on the memory chip a couple of times, i drew red arrows on this picture to show where to short.
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...a/RockPCB1.jpg have a look here what I did to get my player back. http://www.mympxplayer.org/4-vt10734...=asc&&start=45 |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
You are a demi GOD!!!!
ok here is where i'm currently, took a couple of very spectacular sparks but got the driver installed after it detected the rock chip! HEHE i'm so happy, progress at long last! then on the specified rk27dm program opened i linked the following firmware file but not sure if this is the right one: rk27sdk.rkw clicked the r button, its been running for a very stressfull 15:00minutes, how long is this suppose to take and please could you direct me to the correct file? once again you are AWESOME AND I BOW BEFORE YOUR WISDOM! |
You will need to format the main drive on the player, and then copy rkusb.tag to it.
Then reboot and if the 60mb firmware partition appears then copy the 4 firmware folders to it and reboot, then pray that the player works again. If this fails then try the RK27DM program again to force the player into Rockusb mode and use the upgrade tool to load your backup folders in. Upgrade tool here:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...v25-df881.html |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
ok tried a couple of versions and the rk27upgade util which worked fine as far as the 60mb partition goes.
formated the partition and copied accross my backup of it. When I turn it on now, it comes up with a red screen and in the top right hand corner "?????" any ideas? |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
Did you copy the 4 folders in your backup to the 60mb firmware partition?
so it looks like this:- http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...a/rkusbtag.jpg and then restart your player. |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
Yes copied my backup files accross but came up as white screen again...
Ok Here is what i managed to do so far: used the chinese version of an firmware updater to create the 60GB partition (took another couple of hundred tries with shorting...BUT IT WORKS!) and let that copy the backup accross, kept showing up onscreen as ether red with "?????" in top right hand corner... copied the tag file to the main and got access to the hidden, copied accross some other "firmware" and that got the "OS" back, quite a bit less nice then the one that was on here when i got it. That one had, when loading, a kind of a vista loading circle (with the dots) if you know what i mean, also all the icons was horisontal but this one has wording verticly. Still doesnt take my backup though :( and the current problem is the player is really slow and about the only button that works is top one the right... think this might take some time to get the right firmware though and then the matching "OS" firmware... any advise on how to go about this would be great! Knob, i realy want to thank you for all the assistance with this MASSIVE mission! Without it I would never have gotten it right! Thank you thank you! Thank you once more! :D |
You could try copying MY firmware over, my player does look like yours so it could be the same, your backup could be damaged:-
Mine is here:- http://www.mympxplayer.org/rk27xx-fi...-8r-df890.html |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
one more quick by the by:
on the disk that came with this is a SPDA folder and in it a file called "Total MP SetupV4.07(1020).exe" you dont have a clean copy of this by any chance, this disk is totaly and utterly virus infected... |
Re: HELP!!! i'm about to loose my mind
Jip that is the once I have tried but not working as should,
Very slow and some almost none of the buttons are working.... Do you think the button issue might be a firmware (chip) problem or a filesystem(4 folder OS) issue? |
Another firmware to try is this one:-
http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...219-df898.html I threw away the disk from my player, it had all the wrong software tools on it, all the right tools you need you can get from this site in the downloads. If the buttons don't work it is the wrong firmware, I have had the same thing happen with my player you just need to try another firmware it's not a hardware problem. |

if you say firmware, is that rockchip firmware or is that the 4 folders you are talking about? |
Hi again,
ok after a good nights sleep and a bit of tinkering i got that latest firmware onto the mp5, looks exactly like mine but defaulted to spanish. after a couple of tries, got it switched to english and look like this might be the one EXCEPT for the camara icon that is new and the error. After about 7-10 seconds it comes up with an error: LOW VOLTAGE and cuts power to the device. had it charged full on the wall adaptor but still comes up with the same error:) SO CLOSE I CAN TAST VICTORY!!!! Please can anyone assist with this problem? I Have tried several different firmwares this is the only one that is close to what i had on to start with. Is there any way of BLENDING my non functional, white sceen, firmware ORIGINAL BACKUP - with this one: rockchip-firmware-rk2706-version-219-df898 ?? |
I Have tried just about every (OS) firmware out there and nothing!
think i need to try and reflash my chip again with different types of .RKW's here is what I tried so far with the total collection of OS firmware (including my backup): rk27sdk.rkw (this is where the whole problem began) setup.rkw (Not working with and fw) base.rkw (which came on my cd but no go for any of the FW or my backup) Does anyone have something ells I Might try? (Sleep, What sleep) YAWN.... |
hi all,
Think I got it down now! I have messed up my player with the wrong firmware for my board using the supplied RK27DM utils RK27SDK.RFW file To fix this I need a CR3005TFV3.3.RKW original file! Please see below info: Came accross this page: http://www.mp4nation.net/forum/viewt...&sd=a&start=15 With this .RKW file: http://www.yoto-cn.com/upload/2008051410285178332.rar Which if extracted is this .RKW file version: CR3003MNTQ06V2.0V2.3.RKW THIS IS CLOSE TO WHAT I NEED! some of my original backup FW is working like: - Startup screen - Battery charge (but that is about all that is coming up...Main interface not working) tried a couple of other FW, but none of those go, ether displaying red screen as before or white or GReen(which is new...HMM) PLEASE! does any one have a link for this BOARD: CR3005TFV3.3 I need a .RKW file like the on v2.0 one above but for the CR3005TFV3.3 Pritty sure this will get my chip up and running again so I can upload my backup. Please have hunted all over the net and CN sites but unable to find the CR3005TFV3.3 MP5 player board mention! Please if any has a player with a board like this and its .RKW file please let me know! :) thanks |
