Help Needed for Dead player (PM-711C-CL-V4.0).

This is my player

Its board's shot

http://i40.tinypic.com/2m7dnus.jpg

It ATJ2085W based.

I was just going to dump it when I gave a try to a random firmware of an mp3 (not mp4) player, when the LCD lighted up (following ADFU thing). The app says "Flash not responding" at the end.

Kindly do provide a firmware for this player if available (full version).

Thanks.

Re: Help Needed for Dead player.

I have two players that looks exactly like yours.
However, I can't guarantee that it's going to be compatible with your player but it's worth a try.

You will have to follow the DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE firstly to get your player into a state where you can flash your player with another firmware.

Then try these firmwares:

- Firmware: Model MP3345 (Action 2085) - 1.5 inch colour screen

- Firmware: Model MP3345 - 1.5 inch colour screen

- Firmware: MP3345 - 1.5 inch - #2

Let me know of the result.

I haven't seen a player with a 2085 in a long time...

If you provide the board ID we can find a more exacting match for firmware.

That's why I need a full firmware. I've tried the procedure of "Dead Recovery", the player just lights up using one or two firmwares but is not recognised as a USB disk.

The Board ID is under the display connector "i.e the filmsy connection wires" & I can just see the date.. So, I'll have to desolder the display to get the ID & that's kind of complicated for me. As for the display its : "GIANTPLUS KFM136A01-1A".

Please ... Please .... find a full firmware.

Re: Help Needed for Dead player.

:P I managed to get the Board ID by peeling the sticker (It wasn't soldered  ).

Well then :

Board - PM-711C-CL-V4.0
Proc - ATJ2085W
Display - GIANTPLUS KFM136A01-1A

Keeping fingers crossed. :? .

Found this Link. Might be helpful.

On that page, see the row that saids "Downloads"?
At the end of that, where you see the word "Click", the letter "k" at the end of it is the actual download link.

Then click on the "Address" link after that page loads up.

Hope that helps.

Thans for the information. Silly me, for not figuring this out  . The address link is dead by the way but I'll other firmwares from that site.

One more thing. The flashing software is constantly telling about "Flash No Responding". Should I try replacing the NAND? Do Samsung & Hynix have same pin configuration?

Try a different (older) version of MP3 player utility.
