[SOLVED] HELP find hidden partition RockChip RK2706
Hello
I have a problem with my MP5 player, this model: It has a RockChip RK2706 and 16Gb memory. http://i10.ebayimg.com/05/i/001/1f/5b/aaf0_1.JPG http://cgi.ebay.com/3-0-Touch-16GB-MP5-Reproductor-3-PMP-MP4-MP3-Case-Pen_W0QQitemZ370136391375QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_186?hash=item370136391375&_trksid=p3911 .c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1| 240%3A1309 It suddenly died and showed only black screen :( Unfortunately I hadn't done any firmware backup. I was able to find the hidden partition by using "RK27DM.exe" and "Rockchip RK27 Upgrade v2.5. RK27xx flash tool" I put these firmware files on that partition: http://www.s1fw.com/RK2706-Firmware/...FGD240FLW.html They seems to be wrong, now the player only shows white screen. I'm able to only access the main partition (16Gb) I think I have found the correct firmware files now, http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...one-df953.html The problem is that i'm not able to find the hidden partition any more. I have tried the same method as I used before, but "RK27DM.exe" only give me an error message. I have also tried to put "rkusb.tag" on the main partition but without luck. I'm stuck :( Someone plese help me, what can I do to find the hidden partition ? to upload the correct firmware files ? |
Re: HELP find hidden partition RockChip RK2706
Try this procedure:-
http://www.mympxplayer.org/rk27xx-se...-pm-df957.html You must see the Rockusb icon, the player has to be in Rockusb mode for the upgrade to work.. http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...lipboard01.jpg http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/a...lipboard03.jpg |
Re: HELP find hidden partition RockChip RK2706
I'm not able to get it in RockUSB Mode any more.
First time I tried it succeed, then I uploaded wrong firmware to the 60Mb partition. And now when I try RK27DM.exe I get this error message: :( http://www.elshop.se/rk27.jpg What to do now ? Is there any hardware reset or something I can do ? By the way Happy New Year Everyone! |
I had to do a hard reset once, have a look what I did here:-

I'm sorry I'm a little bit late.
But here is my guide how I did to hardware recover my player: mp5_recovery.pdf Hope it help you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. |
thanks for the guide but for all those that can still see the hardware partiton try this before opening the player, its a way to get to the hidden partiton without opening it
http://www.mp4nation.net/forum/viewt...hp?f=43&t=8488 now with your player mac_gyver, i have the same one and it loses the firmware partition randomly :(, what i do now is in the rkupdate tool folder you will see a small file called setup.rkw, i have now copied this to the root of the main memory of the player, now when the player dies (as it does often) i plug the player in and it instantly gets recognized now and windows sees the hidden partition but its dead and it asks me to format it, i do and the partition is then alive for me to copy back up files on, also i have the rkusb, tag ffile on the player also this no means i can be up and running in no time at all if the firmware dies again (and again), take alll of 2 mins so, copy that little file over to the player and leave it there, it wont mess with things, only when the player partiton is dead cheers |
