Default Visual Land VL-875..dead?

I recently purchased a Visual Land VL-875 Click the image to open in full size.
...it is now dead.

I have tried 3 or 4 versions of Mp3 Utilites and one version of Product Tool and I cannot get it to,well, work. When connected via USB, it freezes at the "Please wait.... Welcome" screen.

]This site, although only a translation of the Portuguese version, has a different way of accessing the firmware. It says that you have to hold the Menu button while plugging it in, and it then gives you a whole lotta other steps. The Menu button whilst plugging it in actually made it detectable in Windows! However, the other steps don't work because nothing actually shows up on the screen..

Also, if I install the "Unknown Device" with "USB Composite Device" instead of ADFU, another Unknown Device comes up, so I installed it too as USB Composite again, and yet another came up, and after that another, then another and so on.

It's an Anyka ak3631lq14402 chip btw, and I run Vista.
Does anyone have a solution to my problems?

See thread about ANYKA player.

They have different recovery procedure, just like Rockchip and Actions use different recovery procedure.

I didn't realize there was one.
Anyway, that's the same guide as the portuguese one, only in english lol.
The only problem is, when I hold menu and turn it on, it connects, but nothing is shown on the screen, and I don't have a play/pause button; my
play pause button IS the menu button.

Okay, so I hate to double-post, but it's still not working. As I said earlier, there is NO play/pause button. Can any Anyka player owner confirm if the blue screen shows up when you hold the menu button? Or do you need to push the play/pause button? Also, my device is recognized (recognized as an unknown usb device e.g. I don't have the drivers) when I hold the menu button and connect. Does this normally happen or do you have to select what you want first (i.e. format/no-format before you actually connect)?

My Vendor ID is 0471 and my Product ID is 0666 when I connect with menu held which seems to line up with two .infs I found on the net: A Phillips Smart Evaluation board(whatever that is) and a Nand Flash Characterization controller.

I really want to get this fixed. Thanks .

Really sorry for triple posting but I think I know how to access the firmware now..but I need your technical expertise because I don't have much. BurnNand turns YELLOW when I'm installing the M3CHIP .inf but when the m3chip driver is finished installing, it turns black. I tried quickly clicking it during the installation, and it works for like a second (until inf installation finished, which isn't very long). Is there anyway to make Windows XP have to pause halfway through the driver installation. Respond soon svp.

It is possible, but you need a kernel-level debugger, a good knowledge of ASM and a separate computer to run the debugger on. And i doubt this is the solution.

Yeah, I think you're right. I think it stops working because I use the program and it fails, not because of the inf xD. I feel stupidissh. So then what is it that is causing BurnNand to fail, sometimes it says fail to init and sometimes it tries to format and says fail to format.

Yeah, so I can confirm that it always fails at formatting. What's odd is that in the config.txt file it says that it's going to cpoy 5 files to the udisk and then lower down the page it says there are no udisks. But I believe this is the way I got the Burn Tool software.

Hey, hate to start double/triple/quadruple posting again but it's not my fault for posting, it's your fault for not posting xD. Anyway, I've had some recent success, well somewhat success. producer.bin will copy to 33% then it tries to "init USB" and fails when I select something other than Anyka 3631. I think I have the wrong config.txt configuration. Anyone know where'd I get the right data for my chip (see first post) for Burn Tool?
