Upgrade problem

Hi,

I've updated the firmware of my player (original firmware: LS 101 V10) to version LS 101 V12 but it's not working properly. First, everything works correctly (buttons, menu, screen and functions) but after some reboots the player gets stuck on "start" mode and keeps on rebooting automatically.
Even if I try to re-install the same firmware it does like that, but before the upgrade the player was perfectly working.

I DON'T HAVE THE ORIGINAL FIRMWARE but I have already tried EVERY similar firmware. The ones that are supported and compatible are:

http://www.s1fw.com/Firmware-1/rui-f...070303-fw.html

and

http://www.s1fw.com/Actions-AK102X/A...50-070303.html

(WHICH ARE IN FACT LS 101 V12!!!)

What's the problem with it? Could it be that the chip has been damaged because of so many flashes (operations)?
Sometimes, after an upgrade of the same firmware, the player keeps the settings of the previous firmware... Is it normal?
Can the memory have something to do with it?

chip: ATJ2091N

memory: SAMSUNG 707 K9----------8UOM

plate: K916H2V1M 0UT070116 0704

screen: TFT60005ACT6-BLA 07/2/15

original firmware:LS101V10 ACT V_9.0.50 03/03/07

Thanks a lot!

Re: Upgrade problem

Why are you hiding your flash chip's part#? If you're trying to hide the fact that it only has an endurance of 1500 erase/program cycles, that won't work.

The number of the memory is erased because of the sticker.
I made maximum 200 tries of upgrading.
Can someone solve my problem?

It's a kinda basic thing, but :o ...
¿have you tried formatting the player in FAT16 after you upgraded FW, or used the player as-is?

Also if it's something with the flash chip, you could try using Action's Production Tools (i recommend 4.19) to completely erase the flash chip & uploading the fw again, sometimes thath helps with ill-behaved players.

Tip: if the update process ends almost immediately but say Sucessful anyway, it's most likely that the program DOESN'T upgraded or written anything on the player. That could explain your "after an upgrade of the same firmware, the player keeps the settings of the previous firmware" problem...

Re: Upgrade problem

Hi!
I'd like to erase the ATJ chip but with Tools 4.19 the "erase flash" button remains unclickable even if the device is found. The other functions are working!
What's wrong?
Thanks!!!
