Default Newman N66 (RK2606 based), can't upload firmware

Hello.. i have this Newman N66 player, 1Gb w/SD slot, Rokchip RK2606A based

It came on a box with other bad players, and 2 more N66's that are repaired now. But this one proved difficult to bring to life... the problem is with the flash-chip it seems, as Consumer Update doesn't seem to recognize it (see 1st image). BTW, i have the absolutely right firmware for this player, thanks to S1fw.com so this is not a problem hopefully.

When I run NAND Tools, it says that no flash-chip is present at all  as you can see on the 2nd image. Also tried with other version of the tools (one with a damn BIG window ¬¬), same result.

I don't know what to do, other versions of CU throw the same error, and i'm puzzled with that. Geez, i have even the firmware and can't do a thing because of that... Some things i've noticed that can help you with the diagnostic:

- When I plug the USB cable, the player immediately enter in rockusb mode
**(no need to press any button, or short nand ic or something)
- When turning the switch to ON & pressing PLAY, the scren lits very shortly then goes off
**(with that i mean VERY short, like a camera's flash or faster)

¿It is possible that the NAND-flash just died and that's the problem, or is it something i'm unaware of?
I can replace the chip if it's that, but i want to try other ways and leave that as a last choice...

Thank you all, sorry for the megapost (long post is loooong, lol)

¿Nobody?

I'm sh*tting bricks with this... just finished to solder another NAND-flash & SDRAM chips known to be good, and put it on the bad one (chips interchange lol), and STILL the same symptoms, it's plain dead and NAND Tools can't recognize the chip.

This is the board, and the new 2Gb flash-chip (taken from a working nano 3rd-gen clone)

I've gone as far as checking PCB tracks with a multimeter and big amounts of patience (datasheet & generic RK2606 schematics on hand), and still nothing.

¿Can it be that the RK2606A chip is simply broken? :?
