Sunplus SPCA536 dead player repair guide
 

I saved this information along time ago (on my old computer) and i have only just found it so i thought i should post it.

1. The faulty player.

2. Find the 54th pin of SD RAM

3. Solder a 5.6k resistor to pin 28 on SDRAM (GND) and pin 34 (SDRAM on that foot is the first black dens)

4. With the player connected to the pc, conect the charger to the player and turn the unit on, A new device called PC CAM DEVICE will be found( Name may differ)

5.Open burning firmware upgrade tool. Select SPCA536 MASK MAND

6.ISP points on the correct firmware election began automatically updated

7.After waiting for the emergence of this screen one minute can release the power button

From the sounds of the last step it seems the power button has to be held in during the process but im not entirely sure.
