Default problem with ADFU & wrong firmware

Hi

I've Mp4 2G GIGAMAX just like this one

http://www.chinavasion.com/product_i...sword-setting/

suddenly it stop playing and I thought about updating it or at least restore its original firmware (as written in firmware version)

2006-11-02
9.1.50
2006-12-05
ctw500n_v50

anyway, I try so many firmwares untill I upload one that make the player refuse to recover Firmware

I think about format it but it didn't resolve the problem

windows format gives error message that it can't format
and the device is not visible on DOS

but when I change from FAT32 to FAT it format and DOS can access it
I found some folders and files with unbelievable sizes, the sum = 12G !!!!!!

I try to delete but the system didn't recognize there

even the dos

I ask for help to do the following:

- remove this firmware
- find the right one for this device

Default Re: how to completely remove the firmware

Use DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE to force it into ADFU.

Then upload the firmware. It will overwrite existing firmware.

Thanks lolita

I've tried this before and it works untill I try to install firmware that is making the device accessible but of no use

I can see it in explorer but the upgrade tool crashes in the middle of the operation

actually it happen like this:

I select the new firmware and start to upload it to the device

the firmware begin to upload and in the state bar it writes (display the connection picture) and the screen goes on & off one time

then the update tool gives message that the device is not accessible and ask to review the connection

at this point the device is connected but the windows nor the dos can feel it

I've to unplug it and connect it again

then it appear as a removable disk

I try to upgrade the firmware many times and this is happening everytime

Did you even read the dead player recovery guide? Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the data pins shorted properly and then it'll go ADFU.
