Default Another MP3 player stuck on hourglass..

Ok, I already fixed an hourglass issue on about 8 players earlier this week. It was a Golzi G-18A 9.1.52 & they work better then ever now..

I had another player that looked a lot like the Golzi ones &decided to download the Golzi firmware because it looked better...BIG MISTAKE!

When I finished the firmware upgrade the MP3 screen flashed & just turned white... As luck would have it I had another player here exact same model , so I used the s1fwx tool to extract the firmware from the working MP3.. It extracted a dump bin.. so I opened the upgrade tool & upgraded the firmware with the dump.bin.. After doing this, my MP3 player came back on, but stuck on hourglass...

I'm not sure why?? If the dump.bin from the working player included the firmware or an exact copy of the flash, shouldn't the other player work??

Did I miss a step? Is there something else I need to do?

Thanks
Ftanl

Ok guys I got the clone file flashed..

when I plug in the bad Mp3 and click on write to flash it goes for about 5 mins & then it shuts my computer down..any ideas???

It told me in the error report that an unknown USB device...( My Mp3) was detected..Windows shut down to protect my PC..

Has this happened to anyone else?? I know I'm close to fixing this, but I'm unclear of all the steps..

Please help me with s1clone

Look around on the board for the ID. You might have to flip it over, check everywhere.

Post pictures and we can help.

But getting an hourglass is good already, it means you have a firmware with compatible screen driver. (Otherwise it couldn't even show the hourglass.)

s1fwx *doesn't* do a FULL firmware extraction. You still need a full firmware which is compatible with your player to relive your player completely.

So as you flashed it with an incompatible firmware then tried to use the dumped firmware (not full firmware), it shows up with the hourglass as the dumped firmware isn't a full extraction of the firmware on your player. It's only partial unfortunately.

Is there a tool I can use to extract the Full firmware from a working player??

I can't find a suitable firmware for the below player anywhere..If I could extract a full version from a working player..that ould solve my problem.

Firmware version)

9.1.52

On the screen it says.

Hello ftanl

Yes there is, you can do it with s1clone v2.0. You can download it from here:

http://www.s1mp3.de/tools.s1clone.html

Support for a wider range of v9 devices.

I have the same player as you. If you achieve to create the firmware backup I would like you to send me the backup. Because my player is death now and I can't find the firmware.

Thanks and I hope it will help!!
