how to recover dead player

hello,
i have a hacked mp3 player which is dead
(should have been 8GB but comes out only 2gb)
after trying to upgrade it with new firms it is dead
when i try to turn it on or off it doesn't work
But when i connect it to my PC, the PC does recognise it
but it can't format it
any help plz
i don't even know where to start

Open it up, post board ID and CPU...
