Default Looking for Board K9126H2V1M AK1025 Display RHOS XY 1.8B V1

Hi ,

I have a Kingzon MP3/4 player. its dead now and i think there is no firmware on it. when i connect to USB , the mp3 starts rebooting. I can just see the white screen flashing.

And when it was having the firmware on it , it was rebooting as well and that time i could see the screen blue screen and hourglass picture. but i was not able to connect it to USB as it would just reboot without letting windows to detect it.

I thought it to be a firmware issue and tried to re flash the player. I did something to the player so that it doesn't rebook when connected to USB and flashed some firmware. After that there is just white screen and i cannot flash it now. i get an error "Unknown flash error" for all the flashes i am trying to flash onto it.

I need help and directions to make it work. Also I want to know if the firmware resides on the micro controller flash or the NAND flash.

MP3/4 details

Board - K9126H2V1M
MC - AK1025
Flash - Samsung 743 K9LAG08U0M PCB0 (its 2 GB)
Display - RHOS XY - 1.8B - V1 ( I don't see any other code on it)

I can post photos if it can help you.

Try this one, I'm somewhat doubtful it'll work but do it anyway:

If it doesn't work, then try the XY-1.8B display firmware here:

I tried it earlier and it didnt work.

I have a feeling that may be i am not doing it right.

I am using the Kingzon utility (MP# Player Utilities 3.57) and with a ll the firmwares i get the same error "Unknown flash Error". Can i find the datasheet somewhere. I dont know , it could be some component faliure and i juat wanted to know the voltages required for VCC and VDD.

Oh and i wanted to know if this firmware goes onto AK1025 or it will go on the flash (Samsung chip)?

Thanks
Ajit

Use a different version of MP3 player utility.

Yeah i was doing, I tried 3 and all were not working. Finally i got the one which worked for me (5.09). Though i dont have the display but i can see the player as mass storage. So i am getting somewhere now.

I have to give 4 volts to VDD for the player to switch on. Would you be able to say where the fault could be?

Different versions of player utility have different knowledge of NAND flash IDs.

Which firmware makes player become U disk? I'm guessing it's the CM70048 one. But your display is an XY-1.8B, so try any of the XY-1.8B display firmware. Just getting an hourglass is enough to know that you have the display controller and connectivity correct.

CM70048 didnt work for me. I get an error when i that file. The MP3 utility rejects it saying the firmware protocol is not the same as previous firmware. I could into U Disk mode with 3 - 4 firmwares but nothing really seems to be working. I didnt get the hour glass or anything on the screen. Still workinf and downloading firmwares.

Thanks for following up.
I think by the time i finish with this mp3 player, i might start making my own brand

You have to use HARD ADFU mode, i.e. follow steps in DEAD PLAYER RECOVERY GUIDE. If you do it correctly player will not appear as U disk when you plug it in, only as ADFU device. Then player utility can upload any firmware.

Otherwise it is assuming an upgrade and not a full install.

I am trying in the HARD ADFU mode. I connect the USB cable, I short 2 pins of the flash(ping 42-43) , switch the player on and i see the player as ADFU device. I flash the device and restart it. Now i can see it as Mass storage device.

I cannot switch on the device without increasing the voltage on VDD. I know its not a hardware fourm but if you can give me some pointers as to why its happening then may be i could reach a solution.

Another thing, how can i see what is the current firmware version (my display is just white so i am thinking if there is another way to see the version).

I remember that before flashing, I saw LSD_91N18H_A1 and thats all I know about me previous firmware.

thanks

What do you mean by increase the voltage? USB bus is +5v, and lion battery is around 3.7v.

The current firmware version is whatever you flashed to the player.
