8GB 2.8in touch screen MP4 player stopped working

I have an 8gb touch screen mp3/mp4 player bought off of ebay and it was working fine up until a few days ago. All of a sudden it just stopped working. when i plug it into my cpu the cpu doesn't even recognize it anymore. When i turn it on it stays frozen at the welcome screen and i have to press the reset button to shut it off...Is there any way i can get it to work again?
I've taken apart the mp4 player and got the numbers on the circuit board which are:
TY_606V01
and there were a second set of numbers next to that which im guessing is the build date:
2008.4.14
The writing on the chip is:
SAMSUNG 837
K9HCG08UIM
PCB0

&

ROCKCHIP
RK2608A
B96574 0836
