The display is white when i connect my mp4 to the PC and i can use the MP3 player update tool for install the new firmware.

It appears a message that talks: Now is recover state, and select the firmware file for recovering please.

I tried to install a lot of firmwares but anything it's correct. Allways appears a message: Invalid firmware.

MP-693W has RST/A0/BKL on B4/B5/A2. KFM256A01 has a "large Philips PCF8833" style LCM controller.

MP-885W is identical connectivity for the display, I'm not sure about the keys but given that the display is already connected the same I'd assume that the keys should also be... I can try tracing the key connectivity if you provide pictures of the other sides of the boards.

Try this:
Download Free MP-885W(KFM256A01-1C)5KEY

It works fine, but the firmware have a problem, the display is not in a correct position, see:

http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/372/dscn1599y.jpg

The original was Horizontal. This is vertical.

Another thing: the radio have dissapear. The firmware havn't FM option in the Menu.

I'll backup this firmware, that it works, but I want to ask you if you can to find another that works better, with FM and the display in horizontal.

Thank you very much!

PD: i had to reset the mp4 to see the new firmware doing this:
http://www.mympxplayer.org/images/in...y_Guide/05.jpg

After I install the firmware the display was white, when i reset the mp4 the firmware works.
It's normal??

Of course you need to reset after installing the firmware, so it will load the new one.

Solving the missing FM is simple -- open the file in s1res, under FWIMAGE.FW open the Firmware Property Sheet and uncheck "Disable radio".

For the wrong screen orientation, this will be a little harder to solve. MP-885W is the same screen and connectivity but a different orientation, so I will try to find a compatible firmware for that. If anything, 128x160 display with a Series 8 (v3.x firmware) chip is a rare combination, so we may end up having to use UI components from a newer player (with correct orientation) but the same ACTOS core as the MP-885W which works with your hardware.

I correct the FM problem, thanks.

Thank you for the work that you are doing. I will be attentive to new news.
