Bad first post

Not to sound negative on my first post but....I can't help but wonder how many perfectly good MP3 players have been rendered useless because folks listen to folks on this forum and other forums like it. I also "almost" managed to ruin a couple of the 16GB (yes...they are indeed 16GB....14.7GB worth of data written to the units then the write was verified) 4'th gen Chipods by following advise on this and other forums. None....I repeat....absolutely none of the tools offered here helped me in the recovery of the two units I almost ruined. Good luck folks:)

What do you do, exactly?

Hi Rainier_Tom,

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. But I would like to ask you:

1. When you say "almost managed to ruin a couple of the 16GB" - what do you mean here? What did you do to "almost ruin" your player? What steps did you follow? How was it almost ruined?

2. When you say "they are indeed 16GB" - so to confirm you've managed to play all the 16GB files on your player? I would be interested to know where and who you got your player from as well? It may well be that there are true 16GB players, but from what information we have, there are very few of them around. I'm not sure if you can do this, but can you also post some photos of the chips inside your player please? I mean, it would be awesome that we can finally see a true 16GB player.

3. When you say "none of the tools offered here helped me in the recovery of the two units" - What tools did you try and what do you mean by "almost ruined" once again?

We will try to help out as much as possible. This site doesn't claim to be the "We know all and everything about MP4 player" site, we are providing free support and help on MP4 players and based on our own knowledge and experiences.

sorry to hear about this.

Basically I would always advise anyone not to experiment unless your player is already dead, these cheap mp4 players are far from perfect and if it doesn't work as expected and you are unsure about what to do then send it back to the seller.

I do wonder though, why anyone with "perfectly good MP3 players" would come looking for help anyway.
