Yet another dead Ipod Nano Clone.
Hello there. Thanks for stopping by and by any help you may give me. This is the deal: I received an MP4 player of the now infamous Ipod Nano Clone, with the hope I could find a way to make it work again. Currently, after trying some firmwares, after following the steps from the Dead Player Recovery Guide, the screen is all black, but the device still works as a flash memory. This is the device: http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f2...2/Image0-2.jpg Has a ship that says "Samsung 731" and the square one under the battery that says: "K1025" The firmware that makes it somewhat kinda of works is: LSC_91N207H_A1_NT75751_LS_9.1.52.bin Which I downloaded from here. And by the way, this monitor really sucks, so I don't know if the picture is or not as dark as it seems to me, so, sorry; please let me know and I'll submit a more lighter one. There's a quite prominent BO-xxxxx board number in the upper left under the ZOC logo and you didn't post it?!?!

I though, since my experience on life, that the ones harder to read, had to be the ones I would most desperatelly need to know. If you find my logic weird, you most surely are a nice normal person. Thanks for your help. I'll try those firmwares right away. |
Most of the links are dead, the ones with Chinese characters on the file name specially. From the others, the MP3 Player Upgrade Tool only accepted the first one I downloaded, which was: BO-25002 CS1813B2F2 LSC_91N207H_A1_TD018(TB); and my little monster keeps the same: black screen and working only as flash disk. I tried others, among the two at the end of the list (page 2), which had Chinese characters on the file's name, but the Tool said: "file protocol is not the same as the firmware before" and closed. I am starting to believe my problem is nothing that can't be fixed with a sledge hammer and a trip to Radio Shack. (Too bad I can't afford any of those two) |
Your display has a different driver/controller. Post part# of the display.

Sorry for being this troublesome, but I have no idea of where I could find what you are asking me to post. I did a search on the forums to see if I could find someone who posted how do you find that number, but all I had found was post from you asking for it. I really appreciate your help, and hope I'm not being too annoying. |
Look around the edges of the display, on the connecting FPC, etc.
However, you mentioned that you're only getting a black screen, not even a backlight. This could be because your player has a different connectivity --- see if you can find the display part# first, and then we'll have to determine the connectivity manually. |
I found a serial number printed in dotmatrix on the upper side of the screen: TGS1 77SH00 071014 This is the only one I could find. And I had noticed that if I switch it on, or when I plug it into the USB, the screen goes bright white for a couple seconds, and then goes pitch black again like if the player were off.
