Question 16GB Touchscreen Rockship player is dead

Hi there,

i have a BIG problem.

i bought a 4.3"16:9 TOUCH SCREEN 16GB Player with a Rockship 2706 . Everything worked fine until i tried to upgrade the firmware. The Player has become a blackscreen und i was unable to start him again. So i connected the player with my pc and he still found the device`s . but i just saw the firmware partition. the rest of the 16gb partition was gone! So i tried to get in the firmware partition but my pc just said something like" unable to connect, device need a formation" so i formatted the device. As it was done i had a 16,4gb device and i was able to put files on it. I tried to put my firmware backup on it but the player still show a blackscreen.

I have no idea what i should do. plz someone help me

its the same like this one:

Hey, thanx for ur fast answer.

I tried the tools from ur link. The programs runs fine . At the end i had 2 partitions . 1 = 60mb ( with the firmware ) and 1 = 15,3Gb ( for the music etc. ) the problem is, when its all done and i try to start my player im getting a RED screen. when i connect the player back to the pc, the device has 0MB free and windows says that i have to format the device. Do i something wrong?

Any ideas??

No, you did it right.

It's normal to get a red screen after you change the firmware, you need to shutdown the player now and restart, then format the main 16GB partition only.

Were the 4 firmware folders and the contents there in the 60mb partition? if so then the player should reboot ok.

mh, it wont work.

i have the partition with the 60mb firmware and the big partition. When i start the player im getting the redscreen again. i connected the player to my pc and i had the 60mb partition but there is no firmware!!!!!!

and the big partition is then just 0mb.

So i copy&pasted the firmware back to the 60mb partition and farmatted the 0mb partition, so i had the 15,3gb back. so i started the player - redscreen - connected to pc - no firmware and again 0mb.

I dont get it o.O

any ideas?

Did you use the repair tool?

here:-
http://mympxplayer.org/rk27dm-repair...706-df947.html

Check the firmware partition formatted to FAT not FAT32. If not, format it again to FAT and copy the firmware folders back.

If that doesn't work try the Repair tool again.

thanx for ur great help

yes i used this tool.
and yes i have a 60 mb FAT partition and a 15,3gb FAT32 partitiom. so far so good.

but same problem like before . redscreen - connected to pc - no firmware and again 0mb.

so it seems that when i start the player(redscreen) he delete the firmware and destroy my fat32 partition

any ideas?

A member on MP4nation had the same problem as you.
It was fixed in the end by doing a hard reset (opened up the player and swiped the memory chips)

just to note, for other users of the ZERO bytes problem, this was the hard part as NO tool can bring the player alive from within the PC, i tried all things and no PC would see the memory, i had to resort to a hardware reset of the player (taking it apart and swiping the memory chips)
