Default Dead Pic-n-roll Lava

I know its a cheap mp3 player, but i dont really have any money to get an S1 type.

it stopped working. To turn it on, i press the play button until a blue light comes on, then i can listen to the music. now when i try to turn it on, all that happens is the red light comes on. I tried looking in the poorly written manual for anything, no help. I tried pressing the reset button too, no help. It does appear when i plug it into a computer as a storage device.

It uses a Samsung K9LAG08U0M storage device, and the chip under it does not appear when i google search it.

A74321B 07Q (illegible. made a guess)
TAIWAN 58T or 98T (also mostly illegible)

Is there a way to reset the firmware or find out whats wrong with it? or to upload a new firmware? none of the s1 tools worked.
